Warlords Game Issue

Hello,
I recently purchased the Civ 4: Warlords Expansion pack and have had an issue playing it. I previously had the fully updated Civ 4 playing perfectly fine on my computer but then when I attempt to play Warlords it does not work. When I double-click on its icon, the small "loading" screen pops up and then nothing happens for 5 minutes after which windows says there was an error with Warlords and prompts me to send the information. There is not an error screen telling me exactly what the issue is. I downloaded the latest patch for Warlords and I receive the same result. I have tried changing my monitor resolutions, updated my video card drivers, and attempted uninstalling/reinstalled both Civ 4 and its expansion, all to no avail. I called 2k tech support and the guy had me change the compatability and we tried disabling all of the startup sequences through msconfig. Still nothing has worked. Today I tried compeletely uninstalling all files of Civ 4 and then reinstalling-- I got Warlords to start up once and now it sticks at the loading screen and eventually says it is the incorrect disc.
My machine is a Dell XPS M170, 2.26 Ghz Intel Pentium M, nVidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX, Windows XP Media Center SP2.

I hope there is something you can do to help.
Thanks,

:) Welcome to CFC :)
If it prompts you to send information you can click on details or show report or whatever it is called in the English version (you can tell I am not running the English version of Windows ;)) - the upper part of the report (especially the .dll that causes the crash) might be interesting, please post a screenshot of this or type the .dll name.

OK. So I turned on my computer today without changing anything, and I went to try Warlords to see if it would work....and it did! I played for an hour without ANY errors. Then I quit out of the game and went through the advanced/check for updates and installed the update taking me to 2.1.3 or whatever. Now, when I attempt to turn on the game, it gave me an error message again, which I have attached. Does this simply mean I could uninstall the patch and my game would work? If so, how would I go about doing that?

You can try reverting (but you'll have to uninstall the game (Warlords at least) and reinstall it). What would bother me is that it crashes on a tmp file, so it seems to have partly installed in a temporary file system :crazyeye:
If you want the 2.13 patch download it from this site and try applying it manually after reinstalling :(

The unfortunate thing is, I already attempted that! I even totally uninstalled Civ 4 as well, then manually updated with the patches. And I figured out something most peculiar today, I CAN get into Warlords, but I first have to boot up Civ 4 all the way to the in-game menu screen, then I can exit and boot up Warlords successfully. But if for any reason I need to restart Warlords other than in that situation (ie. loading scenario/ quitting and rebooting) then that error screen comes up. It is quite strange.....could it be a bad disc? Somehow I can use it but only in a certain way?
