I was beating up HC earlier today when he decided to capitulate to Germany. So of course Germany declares war on me (HC was not at war with germany when he capitulated). The bug is I was next to one of HC's cities using my cats to get rid of his city defenses but when Germany declared I got kicked out of HC's territory, but only at that one city not at another city I was attacking.

The only thought I have is that a nearby German city had some cultural influence (like maybe 2% german) that confused the game as the tile was controlled by HC not germany.

Are you sure that the tile was HC controlled after the capitulation? There was a change in the 2.08 patch that made it so that when a master's city and a vassall's city compete for a tile and that tile is within the city radius of the master's city that city always wins...

Yes, I am sure that it was HC's territory. It was right next his city and the nearest german city wasn't close - certainly not in a german fat cross (also my army was NW of HC's city while the german territory was SSE. The tile was still colored orange/yellow for inca not germany's grey.

Not squarely on the original topic, but I noticed once after declaring war that a few of my MA's got tossed across the map, even though they were in my own cities.

Beyond that, the information posted about master/vassal tile ownership was very helpful to a topic I posted about earlier, and explains some confusing results.
