Warning - Do Not Click Greyfox External Links

The forum staff has recently become aware that the site greyfox(dot)me, which formerly hosted many Rise of Erebus discussions and information, has since become hijacked and is now serving advertisements and at least occasionally malware. We are in the process of figuring out how to effectively remove those links, either replacing them with archived versions where available, or making them ineffective as with the greyfox(dot)me example.

There are hundreds of such links, however, with many but not all in this sub-forum. Removing all of them is not going to happen overnight.

If you find a live greyfox(dot)me link, please report it so we can prioritize it for replacement.

Update: All sticky threads have been fully sanitized. There are approximately 127 remaining links in this sub-forum, however (after several dozen have been sanitized), so please be careful and report any you come across!

Dear everyone,
First, thanks to @JimBos for notifying us of this issue. Security has the highest priority, please always notify us of weird things you see and do not hesitate. We'd rather have 1 notification too much than 1 too little.
Secondly, thanks to the team, @Quintillus , @Blake00 and @Birdjaguar who all handled parts of the issue.

On the first day we already took measures to wipe out the bad links, and Quintillus and blake changed some relevant locations to have the correct download again. We had to turn some knobs in the background to achieve a good solution, as some of the things interferred with each other, but now we have solved this to a satisfactory level.
The links to the download or otherwise to greyfox.me, which you can still find here, are now correct and not malicious anymore. You can savely click on them. Most of them will (due to the measures) appear simply as text, and not as a link. You can also savely copy these manually and access them. All other locations will show "urlremoved", as these were the bad links. In case you find a location where there was once a link, and now there is not anymore, then let us know, we can still replace them. Not all of them please though (as there are like nearly 200), only if they are at important locations.

Thanks for dealing with this. Some clowns also "stole" my domain and think they can cash in big time because the domain had a lot of activity in the past. Jokes on them.

Also extra thanks to @black_imperator too who volunteered to help us clean up the mess and am not sure how far he got before The_J found a better mass fix solution.

The links in the main download thread and resource page link to an older Web archive copy so people can still see the old site before the squatters/scammers moved in.

Oh yes, is that the masterofmana dot com? I remember that was a bit of clean up job for me too as your main download thread for MoM had links to a download page, forum and pictures that were taken by dodgy squatters too! Similar to here I fixed it with old web archive backups of everything so people can still see all the cool stuff you created back then. However similar to here I only cleaned the primary download/info threads so there may be more out there if you posted that link a lot. We'll have a look.

It should be fine, the downloads were always on sourceforge and still are there. Also it seems the scammers run out of stolen credit cards. This is how the webpage looks now.
