Hi,
I don't really know if this is in the scope of better AI, but I just want to share my view on wars and resources on CivIV. In the real world, wars - even religious or etnic wars - are usually triggered by resources: land, gold, petrol, etc. It doesn't make sense to me when the AI attacks me just because I'm weaker, when there is still a lot of unused land or resources between the civs. I would like more wars for a reason: conquer a shrine, a gold mine, a petrol well, etc. Of course resources should be much more important in the game and more rare. At the moment, I always end up having all the resources I need and I sell my surplus for few gold per turn. I never buy anything from the AI, sometimes I exchange something. It doesn't make sense.
I usually play Rome at Empreror level.
