Ive played this game for so long, (since christmas) and I could never win, Ive usaully used this game just playing by myself on hotseat, or me being the only civilization, but till last week, Ive treid on cheiften (Dont go there) And finally won! I won by conquest, and I started playing more games, And won those too, But in playing cheiften and (Whats the next lvl?) regent? ive never seen a war with two other civilizations , Except where i signed a MPP and lots of other computer civs did too, and it screwed the game.

Is it by the agression level? or will i need to play on games like deity?
And if i do raise the agression level, will they come out with more units, and the % of beating a unit is much rougher? Thanks :goodjob:

Well, it makes sense that on the lower difficulty levels, since the AI requires more shields to build units, that they will have fewer units overall. As the difficulty level increases, they'll build more and more. An AI is more likely to start a war with more units, so that's why on higher levels there's more warfare. You could try changing the aggression level, but I don't know if that will actually make them build more units or just have them declare war easier.

Thanks, Yeah i played a couple of games of deity, And most of the times people made war.. Usaully not with me, or atleast for not that long...

I usaully get owned on deity around 0AD

I play on regent and monarch and everyone seems to love war just as much as I do. Heck, on Warlord they have more wars than on chieftan. Not like I would know or anything.....

Well, get some wars going manually then! Get civs to make an alliance with you on other civs. That way, there will be more wars happening.

On the lower levels there really isn't any need to get the AIs fighting each other, as you're so far ahead of them that you should be able to take two or three on at the same time and win.

play on maps with more water (80%) and make sure all civ slots are filed (7 AI on a standard map, 15 on a huge map, etc)
When there is less land, the AI will get into a conflict about it quicker.

Well, I played on a couple of deity maps, Pangea (80 % water) with 16 players (I used the Middle age start, To bad they only come on deity levels) And.. In 2 out of 5 games i saw a war happening.

In 5 out of 5 games I deid first :p

Okay, i found out from a post somewhere, I forgot, no link sorry.

But some where it said on the regent lvl, everytime a computer makes a city they get something like this (I qoute..)

Defensive units: 2
Offensive units: 1

So offensive, Im thinking means war.. So If other if people want to see civilizations fighting civilizations, Your going to need to play on regent. Can someone confirm this? And does anyone have a link showing what levels show more units and such per city?

Yes, but he said he wanted to see more wars between the AI. While I do agree with you, he wanted more wars between the AI. And besides, new players couldn't really take on two or three civs without getting a few cities captured or destroyed, even at chieftain. I'm not saying he's a newbie. OK, maybe I am, but I don't mean it in a bad way. We all started off new in the beginning.

Sorry, didn't see your post. Well, playing on regent does not mean that the AI's will declare war on each other every game. While it does increase the aggressiveness, wars can happen on chieftain between the AI's. Maybe move up slowly, try monarch. On monarch the AI's will declare war on each other more frequently.

I'm going to assume you own vanilla. But please tell me if you own vanilla, ptw or complete. Because the AI bonuses vary in the expansion packs.

So, these are the bonuses for vanilla:

* On Monarch level, the AI gets 2 free defensive land units and 1 offensive land unit.

* On Emperor level, the AI gets 4 defensive units, 2 offensive units, and 1 worker.

* On Deity level, the AI gets 8 defensive units, 4 offensive units, 2 workers, AND 1 settler!

I can also tell you the bonuses for complete and/or ptw if you own them. I'll edit it later (Haven't got my laptop turned on which has civ on it).

On cheiften I never really lose any cities, and on warlord, I never lose any cities, but i cant steal/raze others (difficulty, not glitch)

And on the 2nd post, I own Civilzation Complete, Macintosh addition.

Btw, I saw your civilization story, and I saw a program while running civilization III (Maybe it wasnt you, But I did read your civilization, Its awesome) that showed this information, And other things, Do you know where I could get it?

Ooh, yay! Somebody with the exact version as me! Time to answer questions...
First of all, when it's your first time playing a game, you want to start on the first level ;). Youre almost definitely playing on 'least aggressive' and 'chieftan,' in which you would probably get very far ahead of other civs. Because of that, you would be far ahead militarily, and make the civs less likely to attack you. But that's not really important. When you set aggression to least, I'm fairly sure it makes the AI never (or rarely) declare war, unless forced to through agreements. Thus, you wouldn't find any wars unless you start them yourself.

So, if you want more wars, don't raise the difficulty level, just the aggression. Play more at low levels (if you won repeatedly on chieftan, go on to warlord), and raise the aggression. If you're having trouble capturing cities on warlord, play a few more games and focus more on wars, you should find your warfare skills improving ;).

You mean you have a mac?

And yeah, Ill try that Cheiften Least agressive is too easy, Im going to go harder on the agression each time, then when i pass all of them raise it a level. Go back one if i lose.

Thanks for answering :) ....:p

I love that smiley.

Ok, you could do with a bit of training up (As a good thing, that is) :).

Sure. CivAssist 2.

The link is here.

You mentioned you use a mac. I'm not sure if it works on a mac, but I encourage you to try.

EDIT: When you click on the link to civassist 2, you should try installing the actual program (civassist) and not the .net framework. Because its really large and I didn't need it when I installed civassist 2. And besides, I don't think macs are compatible with .net framework files.

Thanks, I think I read all of the articles in war academy, But i went through them again.:goodjob:

Oh, That's not good. I'm pretty sure you don't trust me anymore, but if you do, there's another program with information you can get, and it's called MapStat.

Link here.

P.S Did it not open? If it opens, then start a new game and save it then click file in CivAssist and open you save.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this program I'm linking you to now is compatible with a mac computer either. But, you can try.

While we're on the subject of CivAssist II, is there any way I can stop it from popping up at the end of every single turn? I only want it to pop up when I have an alert, not all the time.
