Edit Feb 13/05: Added version for Rhye's Terrain, preview and download on post #29.

Original Post
There is a waterfall file, but it doesn't seem to have been implemented.

What I have done is added a waterfall that dumps ino a lake. The reason it dumps into a lake is so if there is no river connecting to it, at least it looks like the water has a destination.

I only did this to one of the snow capped mountains, this leaves it relatively random as there are 16 snow capped mountain and 16 regular mountains, so it is 1 out of 32 mountains in a regular game.

I have had to change the mtnrivers file as well to accommodate the change on the mountain file. The reason is the had a piece of the river go up the mountain rather than use the waterfall file.

I figure that maybe this could be cut and pasted as landmark terrain in a scenario.

You know elves sometimes enjoy a waterfall. ;)

Edit: Vuldacon has made an alternate waterfall, it is also downloadable from post #3, don't forget to also load the mtnrivers file as it has been edited to work with both waterfalls (waterfall is in the Mountains-snow file).

Both files go in:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain

Don't forget to backup your originals.

Note: Rename Vuldacons file after downloading to Mountains-snow
(had to avoid having two files with the same name in the post).

I have also noticed that there have been a lot more downloads of the mtnrivers file than the mountains-snow (file with the actual waterfall) file. If it is the floodplains with the escarpment you are wanting , check my signature for the download.

Excellent!! 5 stars for the waterfall and lake!! :D

indeed, very good idea.i would suggest however to put waterfalls in every type of mountain that has river source.

Looks good! :)
Altough i think that the colour of the lake should be the same colour as the river... or you could do as aracuan suggested and if you did you could probably just skip the lake.

It is probably even less than 1 in 32 because there usually are not as many snow capped as there are other mountain.

I thought that it would be best as well to have the source of the water be a snow capped mountain.

I would not want there to be too many waterfalls, in fact I was thinking that this would be best if just used as a landmark terrain, to maybe be a point of interest, or be in the area of a victory point marker.

I like your WaterFall idea Pounder and I wanted to give you my version from what you uploaded but have no way to contact you so I will post it here. Just some subtle changes like fading the river into the mountain snow and adjustments to the river and color.

Here is the Preview and the Zip is in the next post.

When I first added your tile to the file the colour conversion that happened when I pasted it over my palette the water went really dark, I tried to adjust the colour of the water to match the rivers.

Edit: Maybe you should post your complete Mountains-snow file, I could then move it up top with the other files. If you could get it to match the river colour in the mtnrivers file that would be great.

Here is a preview:
