Way to Win

We have been separating all of our ideas in the BABE, SABER and COUNCIL threads and thought it might be a good idea to put them in one place.

* Space: The Council will beat us to it unless they're taken out. SABER could probably either beat us to it or smash us while we're researching, too.
* Domination: We'd need to attack SABER for this one, and if the Council is left unmolested, they'll launch while we're fighting.
* Conquest: The Council will fall relatively easy, but I'm not sure we can beat SABER.
* Culture: Not an option at this point :)
* Diplomacy: If we can keep BABE around as a vassal and kill The Council or get the Council as a vassal after SABER invades them, this might work. It's iffy though.

Looks like if SABER doesn't make a mistake we'll have to go for the sneaky diplomacy win. Commando Bob has laid the foundation for this with his latest message to BABE. The whole thing hinges on the situation with the council plays out.

Yeah, I think the only way to win is diplomacy.

Internationally, we have the advantage that nobody knows how we plan to win.

According to Saber and our own tech stealing, The Council is headed towards a Space Victory.

Saber is looking for Domination. They could be aiming for Conquest, but this is not MTDG I, where there were only two landmasses. Domination for sure.

Babe is just trying to survive, if they haven't given up already.

Gong, well, we took care of Gong and their cultural aspirations.

But no one knows how we plan to win, since we have given the impression of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

What's a and b? What was the vote for?

I do not think you can Abstain in UN vote.

Or can you? I havent built the UN in ages so I might be wrong.

this does not change our situation all that much, the Council still stays as the lynchpin of our plans

I find this funny that we have 20 people on our team and only 5 of us (Me, Cammandobob, Empiremaker, Eliphatium (can't remember spelling), Rodent).

It takes some doing and effort to get involved in a game like this. Some of our team checks in every now and then, but has nothing to offer, so they don't post anything. Others will find the detailed turn logs a turn-off (ugh!) and not try to understand them.

Others just breezed in and breezed out, like this was a fad.

And I think I chased one away, many turns ago, when I was PMed by the teammate and the teammate asked about being Turn Player. I wasn't rude (it didn't sound rude to me, anyway), but I pointed out that they had very few posts in our forum and no one really knew them and that those two things made it unlikely that the Team would be comfortable with them being a Turn Player.

And a note to all aspiring Turn Players: It is best to play a previous Turn to get a feel for the role/task of the Turn Player and all that is involved (turn log, notes, screenshots, etc). I wish I had done that. The first turn(s) are just so stressful (Did I do it right? Did I miss something?).

This is the kind of game where more input is better.

I'm pretty sure you can abstain. Empiremaker used it in his test. We'd need both babe and the council to vote for us assuming four teams at the time of the UN vote.
