I love the religious invocations as well. Most of America goes to churches rooted in protestant theology, and more than a few of these denominations believe that children can be predestined for perdition. In other words, some of these people believe that at least a few of the children from Sandy Hook are going to suffer eternally in hell.

I feel the same way about assault weapons. We can't let the mob disarm us either.

Religious theology is besides the point here. They were seven and eight years old, so its unlikely they were of age of accountability anyway. That means most Protestants think they're going to heaven. I certainly hope so

Maybe in Europe its all about helping the poor, giving your fellow man a hand up, exc. but not here. American politics are all about power and control. We're a one party state. We condemn people who kill twenty while accepting leaders who kill far more with missiles, not in self-defense or for a capital crime after being convicted in court. Flat out assassination.

The "Video game" thing is just a symptom of the bigger problem. Our politicians want to grab power any way they can, and whether its assault weapons or video games, they'll utilize a horrible tragedy like this to grab it.

Its sick. Stop feeding the dragon. If you're going to vote, vote for someone outside the establishment. If you vote for the winning candidate, you're doing it wrong

As for King, King Ron Paul would do very well. Although, like George Washington, he would refuse it. Unlike George Washington, the electoral college wouldn't elect him unanimously.

His son is pretty good too, so we won't be screwed after he dies of old age in 30 years or so.
