In the finalization of the beta for my mod, I'm trying to moidyf some parts of the interface, so it doesn't look to strange when advancing era.

Like having a modern military advisor in era 4 (late iron age).

For the advisor, I'm simply using a transparent graphics, so they don't show at all, and I will probably replace them later something taken with the leader heads. To have era specific and civ specific graphics.*

Now, for the popHead, I started to look at them...

    And how ugly they are!

The native american woman and middle east woman do not look native or middle eastern at tall...

And the ancient graphics look medieval, the medieval look renaissance

Can anybody make graphics that would look correct?

Or can you point me to a mod where they are OK?

I've never found any Popheads that are satisfactory. When I made CAMELOT!, I was left with having a medieval Britain scenario that would occasionaly show a Chinese pophead.

It's not ideal, but what about cropping headshots of some of the various culture-specific unit icons? They don't have faces, of course, but at least they're clean looking and have appropriate skin tone, hair, and headgear.

Kinda surprised at this, considering how easy they are to make. Cut and paste some heads you like and you're good to go.

I once messed around with popheads and they aren't as easy as you guys seem to think. I mean, no, they aren't hard, but they do have Civ-Specific coloring, just like units. It is a few shades of green in the pallet, I think. Don't remember.

There are some interesting heads there, but can someone explain how these extended head pages are supposed to work?

What pictures are used when you have more citizens?
