Weekend Specials Online

I enjoyed empires for the time that I played it (about 2 months ago). Popcorn (which not all of you will know) still plays it.

I was thinking about M&B from the steam sale today, but I'm not quite sure. How many of you would recommend it?

I was tempted by the New Vegas DLC at 70% off until I realized there's more DLC on the way very soon for FNV. I'll just do like I did with Fallout 3 and wait until all the DLC is out and there's a special on all of it at once. I'd pay 10$ for 5 DLC alright. Which is what I did with Fallout 3.

Today I picked up the Doom collection and Mount and Blade Fire and Sword

One thing though, it's probably best to start a new game when doing the DLC... Because frankly it's kind of boring to do all the DLC while maxed out in level... Although F3 had one DLC that increased the level limit, I still reached that limit pretty quickly and was maxed out for most of the 25-30 hours I got out of all the DLC, which is kind of meh. Also some of that F3 DLC is garbage (most specifically the one in the spaceship and also the one in the chinese war simulation, yuck, I hope people can tell us the FNV DLC is better). Actually I didn't like the Pittsburgh one much either. It's always a little jarring to me to be sent to an entire new map but whatever.

EDIT: You know, thinking about it again, I think the only DLC I actually really liked from Fallout 3 was the one in the swamp area.

Any opinions of Singularity or Alpha Protocol? They both look decently interesting. Alpha reminds me a little of Deus Ex.

I've read that Alpha Protocol has a great story than you can actually change along the way with some great RPG elements. However, as it was made by Obsidian (same dev as New Vegas) its a buggy game and the AI was pretty dumb at release. However, definitely worth it for this price.

Ok going to buy M&B. I just realized I've kinda spammed this thread recently. I will try and keep my post count in this thread down.

TF2 isn't exactly high quality, I think you mean Orange Box Source engine updates :p

I guess I'm showing that I still think that my GeForce 8600 GT is pretty neat, 4 years later... :) .
I also did find today that it runs BF: BC2 pretty good at decent resolution, after I updated the drivers.

But yeah, I meant the Source Engine upgrades. Though Empires doesn't have textures that make full use of it (e.g. it's not a L4D2 quality, which we also know ain't cutting edge), it does look better than the typical HL2 mod made by a kid.

Oh and I second getting at least one copy of M&B, probably Warband.
