Ok so this is my first post but I started a game a couple of minutes ago as india, when i met mongolia and they were hostile from me right off the bat. It didnt say they wanted my lands or anything like it usually says, but instead it said that they didnt want anything to do with me. When i went and talked to them they made a weird face just kinda like this :dubious: Does anybody know what that could mean if youve ever seen it before? Im really curious now.

When you meet someone there is a "dice roll" that decides if they will like/hate you or be neutral, usually its either likey or neutral, but sometimes you are unlucky

I've never heard of anyone saying they don't want anything to do with you.Maybe what guczy said is what happened.

If they think you're really weak militarily that will make them all hostile. Sometimes building a few extra units turns them from hostile to friendly.

Yes, I think Yngvi has got it- The Egyptians did that to me the very first time we met in one game, complete with the "Youre puhthetic nyah nyah" speech. He declared war a few turns later.
Reason was given as "You are trying to win the game in a similar manner!"

He fell silent after I invaded and burned everything to the ground though. So yeah, do that, if you don't mind the diplo hit.

Please post the code or the source where you found that information.

My opinion:

The AI decission of becoming hostile likly depends on you're military wich is in my opinion silly :crazyeye: That means at higher difficulties its a madhouse

The "Don't want anything to do with you" : Had that once when I had a significantly higher military score than that AI, but not so much as to "scare" him.

That one got over it in about 30 turns or so.
