Just checked the DRUDGE REPORT 2002 to find that Dave Thomas has recently pased away.

Founder of Wendy's, Dave Thomas was a television and fast food cultural icon. I'm sure he will be missed by all.

My friend and I just ate at Wendy's in his honor. Here's to Dave, a true American Success Story.

-From the home of Wendy's and Dave Thomas

Wendy's is a Hamburger chain here in America and to a lesser extent, abroad. I believe it ranks third behind McDonald's and Burger King, but don't quote me on that. They also own Tim Horton's, a widespread donut and sandwich shop in Canada.

They've made it into the northern U.S. but haven't gotten all the way down here yet. :(

I was introduced to Tim Horton's when I was in New Brunswick on business. I keep trying to find ways to get back up thataway just to have their coffee.

Dave Thomas is dead :( :( I knew it was inevitable. He even tried retiring once, but they called him back. I will really miss his comercials :(

He was a good guy. No two ways about it.

Sorry to hear that Tim Horton's hasn't made it far enough south to get to you. Here in Columbus we have some combo stores that have both a Tim's and a Wendy's.

Here's to Dave Thomas...a great guy.

I think you can order Tim Horton's coffee on line and make it at home. I know people around here give it to each other at Christmas.

DouginFL - where in New Brunswick and why?

Ahhh. :( How sad! I heard about that this morning.

I know a guy who's name is Dave Thomas, he goes into WEndy's, shows them his ID, and demands free food. He gets it too! :D

It's a sad say. :(

I love the Spicy Chicken Sandwich....mmmmm...spicy chicken. *drool*

Tim Hortons RULES!!!

Nothing beat's the Walnut Crunch! *drool*

Unless your alergic to nuts....of course. ;)

My older sister works at Tim Hortons in Gander. I believe she is manager. MMmmmmmm free donuts *drool* (When we lived there.....but we don't live there now. :()

Well I guess that trick is over now. I hope this person enjoyed his time in the sun. Some people just get all the breaks. :p

Ok, this may be true, but, Wendy's is by FAR way better than McD's or Burger King. They are like a KFC, you see, there's fast food, and then there's Wendy's, or KFC, but... Look, I don't want to start a flame war, just saying...

Look knowltok3 you said don't quote me and now 2 people already have :D

Damn Damn and Damn, you people just don't listen!!!!!

Actually all I meant was size. I prefer Wendy's as well. I live and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I've eaten at the first Wendy's.

KFC is alright, but I'm not a big fan of Chicken on the bone, so that limits my menu selections. They still have pot pies, chicken strips and those wonderful little desserts, so it's not like I avoid the place.

As far as a flame war goes, I would have to eat White Castles for a week straight and lock myself in a small room until I died if I ever engaged in a flame war over fast food. (Some know the power of Sliders, others can only guess in fear.)

tim hortons is the best coffee shop EVER. i hope they go international like mcdonalds eventually... and wendys is easily the best fast food shop. i remember once i was in moncton, NB, and we couldnt find the wendy's so we went into mcDonalds and asked where the local wendys was... they told us too

Classic.

Does anyone know if there is an international doughnut shop? Technically Tim Horton's applies since it is in both the US and Canada. If there isn't, Tim's may be the one to leap accross an ocean or two. We can only hope.

"Seems to me he lived his life
Like a candle in the wind...
Never knowing who to turn to
When the rain came in...

Goodbye fast food Dave, though I never..."

Ah, I think you get the idea. Whereas I think Ronald McDonald should die of a coronary caused by his own crappy food, I actually liked Dave Thomas. And his burgers.

:( ....

I'm going to go to Wendy's the next time I can...haven't been there in a while. They sure made hella better food than McDonald's/Burger King ever did.
