This is still work in progress no finished product! Let's say beta version.

Thx to Rabbit White for making the low poly nobzhead(I further cut the neck and the nosering). The officer stats are: Vertices 1193, Triangles 1302 and the boyz are: Vertices 1092, Triangles 1191.
The body's made by seZereth(original to get here, Testmodel below in this post).
There is still a small issue with this. The bright parts of the head(teeth) blink a little bit. Does anyone know how to fix this? And could someone playtest it? I want to know if it's really a problem or just my pc(please post systemspecs too in case).

another funny thing is, the head need longer to disappear than the body. Maybe someone can create a blood effect for this:D (screnn show older version, neck is shortend)

oh **** this head is soo highly detailed,... 700 is much, hope we dont get in problems with rthat, cause i thought orcs being on the battlefoield in great masses, furthermore you should watch his neck, seems too long
 
They look spectacular Ploep, but I worry along with seZ about what a hoard of orcs will do to lower (or even mid level) end machines.

Have a look at it in the game. It looks very nice there even the neck( though I will cut of some vertices there too maybe). Don't worry too much and keep in mind our other civs have lots of models with similar polycount. But I'll rip of as much polys of that as possible. But first I want to have this blinking problem solved! Btw the plume is detachable in the viewer reducing the vertices by round about 300.
 
Final cut axeboyz version uploaded. The axeboyz will probably be reskinned but I think we reached a resonably polycount now to have it in game. Happy playtesting. Thx to Rabbit White for his efforts to make all this possible.
 
These are fantastic, im checking them into FfH2 too! Great job!

I love the little skulls over their head. :D
 
You should update the close-up shot because the new low poly heads I made have less teeth, that's misrepresentation. :D

I know you really want the full orks but I decided to start on something that should be simpler to animate, so I'm working on a Squiggoth right now. So far I've been working on reducing the poly numbers and consequently fixing texture mapping. It's almost done so I'm gonna wrap it up tonight and get to skinning and animating. Hopefully I'll have a working version on the weekend.

Cool to hear. For orcs the heads are sufficend for WH cause WHFB won't need firearms(exept you're planning doing seperate melee versions too where I can rip off the blasters, I think there are animations for both the shooting and hacking in DoW) but TGA will love you for this. The only whole model I can think of to integrate right away in WH is the bloodthirster. But don't drop the other models because of this. WH 40K will be so awesome with them!
I will just wait patiently for the Bloodthirster and other bodyparts:)
 
I'm probably going to make FB-like versions of the the orcs. It shouldn't be too difficult - most of them already have melee animations (plus I'll probably end up redoing animations anyway), and it shouldn't be too difficult to give them some nice melee weapons and remodel/reskin the modern scifi armor into something more fantasy like.

I'm grateful for whatever I can get! Given that you actually have a mod released, unlike me, I'm suprised when I get anything at all :D

About the heads - the skin-tone is quite a bit different to the body skin tone. I would suggest lightening the head a bit, as Civ is generally a brighter game than DoW.

The skin isn'nt much touched yet. No time. But I planned to use the heads' color for Black orcs and brighten it up for ordinary boyz anyway;)

Good Idea, the colour for the Blackorcs could be even darker IMO (but only if you could add some contrast).

Also, the Boyz need big, bulky looking armor..
