Geez, I hope not! :crazyeye:

Although, I concur with what my dad says; that it's Norton and McAfee and all those companies which produce the viruses, and then make sure that they're available, always ready with some new antivirus program to protect people - of course, it ain't free! ;)

about norton "anti"virus

he makes at least 5 executeables
he makes them all start with computer
he put itself on desktop, start menu, send to menu, right click menu
he puts additional icon on windows explorer
he scans your email by default
he annoys you "update your definitions" by default

most viruses do less damage.

I used to use Inoculan (InnoculateIT), but they went commercial on me.

Now, my autoupdater doesn't work, since I guess the account needs to be commercial. I have used F-Prot back in the good old DOS days. In fact, it's what I used for my DOS-based BBS.

I use my own better judgement :)

Actually - we have McAfee Vshield at work, and that's where I do my surfing. At home, its mainly CFC, GC, online newspaper, newsgroups & hotmail.

I consider myself low-risk, as I don't download and install many programs, and just delete any suspicious e-mails. :)

Norton Antivirus 2001, I bought used, and registered six months ago. Six more months of free updates, then I'll look for the 2002 version.

No virus yet (You don't need to modify "virus" for the plural, it's like "plasma" or "vermin").
