These have lots of great tips.
The main difference with Regent
over Warlord is that the tech learning rate is the same for AI and
player. Plus, with patch 117f, the AI will *always* trade the techs they get with other civs. This means that you can't afford
be an isolationist and expect to win like you could with Warlord.
If you are an isolationist you will fall way behind in techs as all
the other civs will be researching as fast as you and trading
for the ones they don't research. The pope strategy explains
how to trade for techs effectivley.
Another thing you probably want to do is learn BillChin's early
dense build and Horse rush strategy. Or just learn to
conquer a nearby civ quickly in Ancient times.
Finally, use the governor to manage your citizens happiness.
It makes playing so much easier and the gov does a great job,
just don't let it choose what the city produces.
