What are military police?

I have heard mention of them but I can't seem to find any specifics like how to turn them on, if that's what you do, or how they work. Or are they just how many military units you can place in a city to count towards quelling civil unrest and not some seperate entity?

Military police are simply another term used to describe the units that turn unhappy citizens to content citizens under certain govt. types.

military police are the units in the city which keep people happy. When in your city display you may see a little smily face by a unit that is inside the city. Different government types have different limits to military police so not all units in the city will count towards making people happy.

The civpedia will tell you the limit # of units you can use for each city under each government type. The unit also has to have an attack or defense value too. Bombard units like catapults and artillery don't count.
