I've found that any reasonable city placement is quite powerful. China is one of those civs where you don't really have to worry about placement - just make sure every city has at least two food resources. In general, though, these spots seems to be the best:
The black circles cover multiple potential sites for one city. Which one you choose is up to you (they all have their merits). If you're going for the UHV, you probably should tightly pack you cities more, since resources are so plentiful.
As far as Korea goes, I really like Pyongyang on the pigs. Lots of food, it's on a river, and it has some production capability having iron and coal in its radius.
