What are the best Civ 4 mod's

First of all, I apologize if there is already a thread of this subject.

Now, the question is, in your opinion, what is the best Civ 4 Modpack, and why do you like it so much?


I have only played a couple of Civ 4 mods so far, and I like, (despite the odd flaws/errors) Realism Invictus. I like the slower time scale, larger tech tree and the graphics customization to the different Civs in it.

I've also played the Dune conversion, which is very well done.

You could try K-Mod or Better BAT AI for a better AI experience. Caveman to Cosmos seems very popular, as well as RoM:A New Dawn.

And of course, any of the Fall From Heaven Mods and their derivatives.

(mostly) Unaltered gameplay: K-Mod rocks!

Scenario mods: RFC Europe, Sword of Islam and the like.

Expanded eras, units etc: Realism invictus! Probably the most polished and well balanced of all expansion mods. Current version is 3.1, version 3.2 incoming in a couple of months, bringing numerous improvements.

Complete conversions: Dune wars, Planetfall, Fall from Heaven.
