In case you haven't heard the latest Intel media blitz, they are coming out with a new Centrino processor for laptops. What makes it special - it comes packaged with a WiFi card, so you can use the Internet wirelessly from the get-go (assuming you have a hotspot nearby, of course).

So what do you think of this new processor? Have it already and like it, hate it, or what?

I like it since it was developed in Israel. :D

Centrino is a big step towards intel's goals for the future, where every computer can be networked wirelessly just by being near to each other if wanted. The wireless technology support is the most advanced out there.

However, a big feature I thought was nice is reduced power consumption, VERY important on laptops :D

Intels marketing department is gonna have a hard time explaining that sometimes (Desktop-PC's) a higher clock-speed is everything while in Notebooks it isn't.

But the technology sure looks impressive :goodjob:

Very true. The article I read mentioned something similar to this. They said that Intel, you used to always back the idea of processor speed, is going to have to admit that they were wrong before and laptops are different from PCs.

:ack:
