I figured it would be nice if there was a thread where everyone could post problems/bugs/fixes/things they would like to be dealt with in the next patch.

Here is my list:

1) A patrol movement (select a path for a unit to continually "patrol" up and down until you want it to do something else)

2) Great Lighthouse allows Galleys to travel on Seas

3) Better zoom features (both in-game and editor)

4) Ability the select odd world sizes in the set-up screen (like in civ2) ie. 100x50; 250x76

5) CHICKENS!!!!!!!!

I thought the Lighthouse DID allow galleys to travel on seas.

People have been asking for a patrol function cince Civ I. Sid won't do it.

Of those things I can NOT change in the Editor, I would like, one, no special powers for AI units (see my ocean-going galleys thread), and, second, I would like the number of privateers and submarines to directly harm the trade/commerce of a nation you single out. This could be during peacetime in the case of privateers only.

Firaxis Dan has already poured cold water on what I most wanted to see in the next patch: an increase in the total number of cities that can be built from 512 to 768. But, I suppose, we can't have everything we want in life.

#3 & #5 are priorities, but the most important thing to me is a MAP EDITOR THAT CAN ZOOM OUT  .

1) Zoom zoom zoom!

2) My submarine attack suggestion implemented: ability to choose which unit gets attacked in s stackso i can pick out the transports

3) better combat system: different attack/defense values depending on the opponent
i.e. an ironcald has only 1 defence against a submarine hehehehe etc.

4) more lgical city improvements: colosseum runs out; replaced by Stadium

5) better corruption and corruption control

6) better cultural flip features

etc
etc

WE ALREADY HAVE A THREAD FOR THIS - WE DONT WANT ANOTHER ONE - JUAST ONE IS ENOUGH

Stacked movement (without being able to attack while stacked of course.)

Auto-pollution cleanup that works properly (Doesn't send 2 workers to a polluted tile when 16 are needed!)

Better treatment of power plants - you shouldn't be able to build a coal plant when you already have hydro, solar, or Hoover dam. Coal plants should cost you no support after you build Hoover, and/or give you a "sell all" option when the dam is built.

Civilopedia entry for city "flips" updated with the real criteria that determine the chance of flipping.

A pseudo iron-man game type that either prevents you from saving the game at all (probably not practical) or uses hidden codes to flag the game as unscored if you reload a game after you have already been "in the future" of the same game. (For comparitive play - GOTM)

Multiplayer! Yes, I will pay for the "add-on", but yes, I reserve the right to be bitter about the money-grab.

Allow me to see what science the other civs have (someone suggested that it was doable, but I haven't been able to find it!), and tell me when a civ that I'm in contact with researches something, so I don't need to keep checking!

Do away with the AIs cheat that allows him to trade a tech that you just sold him so fast that you don't get to trade it to the other civs, even though it's your turn! (In MP Civ II you were able to trade techs while waiting for your turn to move, but the AI is too fast!)

Improve the look of Forest, Jungle, and Irrigation (there are some great mods out there!)

Add a lot more hyperlinks from menus to the Civilopedia (ex. In the build menu.)

Better helpful overlays to more easily see the best spot to move your settler, when he's active.

Swordsmen and Privateers need to be obsoleted by something!

Governors are a great idea in principle, but often don't work right - seem to be buggy or perhaps just counter-intuitive.

Units in combat often hide interesting information, like city size (important, because you need to know the size to know what the defenders' entrenchment is like), and the progress of a melee (not as cruicial, but still nice to see.)

It should be possible to show all 16 faces on the foreign advisor, even if it was an optional thing and the actual faces were replaced with the civ names.

The draft button should bring up an "are you sure" box. It's dangerous!

Well, that's enough for now! It really is a terrific game overall, but there are still lots of opportunities for improvement, as we say in the business world! :goodjob:

(Graeme - I understood the big thread (10 pgs now! ) as being intended for bugs, so I agree that's a good place for them. But it's now far to big to read (anyone want to summarise it?), so maybe this is a good place for "wish lists".

Is their really going to be another patch?
I always thought that the MP expansion would be the $50 patch. I hope not though.

BTW, I would really like a editor.

A Bloomin' Scenario Editor WITH ZOOM !

Come on Sid that ain't askin for much you lazy bast! :p

1> Some sort of unit grouping. Large wars are a bit of a pain right now.

2> Organization in the right click display of stacked units. I hate trying to pick out my transports in an armada about to land.

3> Tweaks on how the Airlift works. Why cant I stick a worker, cruise missle or a great leader on a plane to the other side of the world?

4> More range on the cruise missile.

5> Tweaked sea movement, larger maps give boats more movement.

The ability for air units to sink ships. I had 5 bombers take runs at a trieme befor I noticed it won't go down!
