With the next U.S. election coming up, I wonder what the rest of the world would like to see in the next U.S. President? Also, I suspect that other countries pay more attention to U.S. elections than Americans do for elections in the rest of the world. Is that generally correct?

Its really very simple.

1. Look after your own constituency - but don't let that disadvantage anyone else.

2. Use your military / economic might to help others in need- but don't meddle in other's affairs.

What could be easier? :D

I would like to see in a US President who has a hardline policy of giving $(US) 1,000,000 to each Canadian citzen anually. I think that would be a good thing.

Now on a more realistic front, as far as domestic policies, I don't care, for obvious reasons. In foreign policy, well just a little more friendly to multilateral process is all I ask for.

That he be named Bush, and continue the sensible and righteous policies of the moment, with a few technical alterations in regards to the Pentagon. Indeed, that he prosecute the war with even greater intensity.

The RTW wants Clinton. I think theyd like Hillary more than Bill.

Someone who is willing to work with the rest of the world on environmental and economic issues.

Someone who's at least willing to listen (or appears to do) to what the rest of the world says.

Someone who is to the left of Bush and to the right of Dean....kinda hard to find the exact person/degrees of separation though.
Sounds like Colin Powell:p
