I'm sure TheMeInTeam will be happy to give you his opinion on that.

Voted for Burnside. I've lost more 90% chance or more battles than I ever thought possible. Stupid RNG...

One thing I have to add to the "Anywhere but there!!!(Losing a key city spot)"...

Have you noticed that when this happens it seems like the AI will ALWAYS build one space off target so that even if you capture the city later it will only be a shadow of how good it could have been?

Oh abso-FLIPPIN-lutely I've noticed that and it's part of the reason why I voted for 'Anywhere but there!!!' being the most frustrating one. Not only does the AI civ build in the wrong place but they found their city just when you've finished building a settler, or just when your settler was a turn or so away from founding the city in the spot where it 'should' have gone. [pissed]

Last game

The ai landed about 15 horse archers on my island, i tried to move my cavalry out from my capital in support onto a nearby hill (leaving my redcoats for defense)

You guessed it...i moved every single unit out of the city

This keeps happening to me, later on i tried to move my workers out to repair a destroyed town...

and yup despite selecting just the workers i marched the entire garrison out
