What internet explorer do you use?

Isn't there already another such thread around?

Yes, but it is in the Computer forum.

Mozilla Firefox. I was convinced by that other thread :)

Ive been using It for a couple of months after I read about it in the paper.

Firefox, currently, on Ubuntu Linux... which browser I use depends on what OS I'm using at the time:
FreeBSD - I switch between Opera and Mozilla
Ubuntu, Mandrake - Firefox (and Thunderbird for mail)
the rest - Mozilla suite

I don't use Internet Explorer for several reasons:
1) It doesn't run on Linux, so I can't run it anyway. (It can be run using Crossover Office, but why would you want to?)
2) Firefox and Opera have tabbed browsing without needing an third-party addon.
3) Firefox and Opera have built-in popup blockers (yes, this has been mitigated with SP2, but I still have bad memories from using IE before...)
4) ActiveX. Number one spyware infection vector. I turned it off on my sister's computer, to avoid spyware, and what does IE do? It gives her a warning message every time a site tries to use ActiveX! So then what does she do? She turns ActiveX back on and the computer becomes Spyware City...

So nobody installed Mozilla Firebird by accident in an attempt to get Firefox, then got too lazy to get the good version?

IE with all the latest patches on my immaculate computer. why screw around with a 3rd party borwser if what you allready have installed works perfectly?

*shrug*

Why not use a better browser if you get it for free? Why settle with a crappy piece of junk like IE? Lazyness? ;)

I use Opera btw.

Don't listen to these people.

MSIE works perfectly in Windows as long as it is up to date, and you don install a bunch of useless other 3rd party junk like the little toolbars and crap.
for spyware, SpyBot 1.3 works great as long as its kept up to date and you imunize... That in conjuntion with XP severice pack 2, and I never get spyware, even after visiting some pretty dodgy websites..
that's all you need.
FF has tabbed browsing. neat. I think I can handle browsing without the tabs.

crashing? I never have problems. I keep my computer very tidy and optimized, that's why I don't have problems.

as an MCP x2, I have complete faith in Microsoft and their products, and typically shun the use of 3rd party products that duplicate (often superior) features found within Windows XP.

I use Internet Explorer 5.1 for my 2000 toilet seat iBook and Opera for my PC. I don't trust IE for PC anymore. And as for my toilet seat iBook, IE 5.1 is the only browser that will run on it relatively well. I need a new laptop... :shakehead

As an MCSE+I, CNE, and A+/Network+/I-Net+, (and Linux+ in the next month or so) I have less than complete faith in Microsoft and their products. While I do shun products that try to improve upon embedded Windows functions and seem to make the situation worse (Symantec DiskDoctor comes readily to mind), web browsing in one area in which I prefer an application that isn't embedded and has fewer interdependencies within the operating system. As Chairman Meow notes, the insistence by IE of allowing ActiveX without drastic measures is particularly annoying.

Given Firefox's price tag and the fact that you can run both concurrently, I see no reason to avoid at least giving it a test drive.

I use Firefox 1.0
Even with SP2, I still received a virus from internet explorer. Over all, it's the lack of activex in Firefox that turns me to it.

Opera and sometimes IE, when java things doesn't work on Opera ;)

I have Mozilla, but not firefox.

it's called a browser.
I mainly use Mozilla Firefox.
I used to use Mozilla but then i switched due to memory issues.
ANd i often use Opera.

This thread title is quite misleading. It should say "browser." At first I thought you were asking what version of IE we were using ...

Anyway, Firefox.

I use Mozilla on all my OSes. Unfortunately, note that a bug was found in Mozilla in the last couple of weeks (not so bad in Firefox). If you use Mozilla, upgrade to 1.7.5, or make sure you have NNTP turned off...

I'm running IE 6.0

I simply find no problem with it and thus no reason to change.

Firefox, and can someone edit the title?

IE had this habit of closing all my windows at once and saying something like "0x000abc123".
