What Is Civ To You?

Ever since firing up Civ 1 in 1998 (yes, '98) it's been my favourite game. For me, Civ is all about the passage of time and how meaningful it is to advance up the historical latter.

You pick a faction, and lead it from the Ancient Era to the Modern or Future. Civ7, er, thinks otherwise

You lead a civilisation from the Stone Age to the Stars, there's a lot to like in what we've seen so far but I'm really not sure how changing Civs is going to work. I love playing iconic Civs like Egypt, the idea of transitioning to Civs no one except a history buff has heard off doesn't appeal to me at all.
