What is the longest game you have ever played? And how were you able to accomplish making it so long (please no "left my computer on", though I am guilty :D ).

Mine would be a game I played on a Huge Tectonics Map as Isabella (with the Revolutions mod). The game in the end took me 68 hours to play, with I'd say only about a hour of "left my computer on while doing something else".

I can't come close to your level of dedication, although my computer isn't as young as it used to be (so I don't like to keep it on for that long). Still, the longest I probably played for is somewhere between 8 to 10 hours. After that it no longer is fun and I'm probably too tired to press on. I'm interested in knowing what the record is.

8 hours consecutively. Not sure total time played in most of my matches.

45 hours for a large marathon high score gauntlet with Huayna Capac. I hate marathon ;)

EDIT: And I won in 1205AD, so there were loads and loads of turns left ;)

Warlords, Marathon, Huge, 18 Civ, only victory condition was Conquest, playing as Shaka; took about 50 hours.

Longest consecutively: 9 hours. Unwinnable and I just gave up.

The longest game I've played to date was my first Epic huge map (thanks to the new computer). It took 27 hours to lose a space race to Bismarck.

Wow, I can never imagine me playing civ for 9 hours consecutively... the most for me must have been at least a couple hours before I kinda get restless. My 68 hour game took me at least a couple weeks to win, and the only reason I stuck with it (b/c normally if it is taking a couple weeks to win I would just give up) was because it was just so fun. This particular game was just... hard to use any other word to describe it other than just fun.

Edit: Probably a reason for my game being so long was is that I believe I finished a space race win (my fall-back option) somewhere in between 1950-2000. So I played a full-fledged game (another reason for why it was just so fun).

I think my longest game ever lasted about 13-14 hours. I won the game by space race victory.:crazyeye:

Well, I did take bathroom breaks. (Forgot to eat, though.)

Until a couple of weeks ago, I had a great deal of time on my hands. Then I met someone. Now I have to find time to play. But hey, who's complaining? :)

Congrats. :goodjob:
Now if you can get them interested in Civ .... ;)

118 hours. Yep. I'm nuts. :crazyeye:

Huge Map. Marathon. Low sea level. Won a domination victory in 1974 playing as Ramesses II of Egypt. Prince difficulty. I think this game took me almost 2 months to finish, and eact turn in the later rounds took 15-20 minutes I was moving so many units around. It got really tedious after a while.

If you want to see it, I posted a save game when I was about 7/8ths through and just about to clobber Shaka.

My second runner up was a Huge map, marathon, medium seal level with 14 civs. I played as Gilgamesh and won a space race in 2034. I had tech trading and tech brokering turned off, so everyone had to do their own research. That game took 104 hours. Had a very long war against Catherine and that took a lot of the time.

~40 hours: marathon, huge map, Immortal, 14 civs, Bismarck, space ship victory in 2010.

My longest "real" game is about 10 hours.

But I once played a huge pangea just to see how high I could get the total population. Saved it and played it about 3-4 hours a day for over 2 weeks.

Never did really max it out, but was not much left but a few icebergs and single square islands. Game kept crashing, so had to restart it about every 30-40 turns.

Never again.

Something like 145 hours by the game timer, although only about 100 was playing time, the rest was running in the background.

Huge maps + marathon... that was one of the few I played to the bitter end.

Geez dude! :D 145 hours, I'm gonna have to try and beat that with my current game (Tectonics, Huge, Marathon, Carthage, RevolutionDCM mod= fun :D!) See you in 100 hours ;)

Do a marathon time tie.
