A while back, I worked on a new forum skin - a Civ 5 forum skin. It is actually now selectable from the forum drop-down style selector at the bottom left of each page - called "Civ V (revised)". I didn't update every single element (it still uses defaults for a number of infrequently-used buttons etc). It is "OK", but I'm no artist. In particular, I think that the buttons look pretty horrible, and some are the wrong size (the chevron in the link to a quoted post, for example). So, I figured I'd throw this open to the community. We have people here who are fantastic artists, and can create something a hundred times better than I could ever dream of doing.

If you'd like to contribute - then great. There is no payment, and benefits are limited to an acknowledgement, and knowing that your artwork may be seen by hundreds of people every time they refresh a page.

A full theme requires a full set of images - the base images are located HERE. There is also the main site log required. For people who want to contribute, please either organize what you need etc yourselves, or let me know what you need from me to help with the organization.

A starter may be to have a thread for each "theme" (be it Civ 1, CivFanatics, Civ5 etc etc). People can then either work on their own, or work collaboratively. By having people post their work in progress, then others can choose a separate forum element and develop something that they think will complement someone else's work.

Note that image names are case-sensitive and must be kept to the same names, including extensions. But the format can be changed* (eg. to .png).

*I recall that the forum software requires that the displayed extension by ".gif" for most files, but the underlying format is read and interpreted by the browser - i.e. you can create a .png, and rename it as a .gif, and both the forum software and the browsers will be happy.

So, people can start as many projects for this as they want?
