Porno. Where's Porno?

Porno is not considered true literature. Besides that, all it is, are pictures of naked people, mostly female.

Seriously, beside porno, what is your favourite literature?

Sci-Fi

Which isn't even on your puny list:p I like some fantasy (Harry Potter), but I guess adventure is what I should select, because that would include most Sci-fi, good Fantasy, and Michael Crichton which I read...

Exactly what I was thinking. Jurassic Park was great, and the Andromeda Strain wasn't half bad.

Sci-fi - why on Earth is it not on the list?!

Clarke is God, but there are several other deities in literature, and most of them write sci-fi. Do not take me wrong, I have nothing against other types, but when I read a book, I expect something fantastic. Stories of everyday life, well, that's just boring once you get used to sci-fi.

Fantasy followed by Historical Fiction, hate biographies though

Sci-Fi and to a lesser extent Fantasy,

The Wheel of Time kind of killed my love for fantasy some years ago during book #7.

How ironic - on a geeky computer game interntet forum thread like this one the option for Sci-Fi doesn't exist.
You folks must forget where you log in everyday. :p

I don't read much literature nowadays. But i'm currently reading stuff by Valerio Evangelisti's Nicholas Eymerich series.
So it's the usual 3 narative story lines, one is Historical Fiction, one is Mystery and one is SF - all of them progressing in a paralel way in a slow but steady unification of ideas and explanations the closer it gets to the end.

Yeah, I liked Congo, Sphere, Eaters of the Dead, and Airframe at least as much as those two as well. Prey, Great Train Robbery, Terminal Man, and a few others are great too just not quite on the same level of awesomeness:D

Some pornography is written - the word originally means "writings about prostitutes", in fact. And there is erotica, which is not entirely different from written pornography.

My favorite genre is instruction manuals on how to install a DVD player or a other home appliances. A very good read if you like to comment about them by giving silly synopsis on how to make the manual better.:crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

Autobiographies and Historical Fiction

A tie between anything humorous and historical non-fiction. Strangely enough, I'm very choosy about historical fiction.

Are Pratchett's books as funny as they hint to be? My eye keeps wandering to them when I'm at the library.
