    Besides I enjoy historical novels and Fantasy as long as there is not too much dragon & magic nonsense.

    Pratchett is funnier than Fforde. Especially after the first 6 or 7 discworld books, they start to be a lot more involved, and become very good, funny, books rather than books with a lot of jokes in them. Fforde's Thursday Next series is good, but not as good as the later discworld stuff.

    As for the poll, no vote, the answer is sci-fi.
