Japan with Secret Societies, taking the first one I find and pushing for the victory which synergises best.
I'll put Ethiopia in the game though.

I was thinking Fancy-pants Catherine. I have no idea why.
I'll have a look at Ethiopia over the weekend.

Her Royal Magnificence. With Apocalyptic Societies enabled :)
I will send out Soothsayers to burn the Earth and then set Vampiric corruption upon it. And do it in an extremely cultured way :)

The wide brimmed hat guy with a lot of faith will have to wait for a second game.

Probably Ethiopia, but I did just finish a faith-based game, so might give Bull Moose a shot (given that he seems like the "newer" Teddy version, in all honesty).

Probably Bull Moose Teddy, I was already kind of thinking about doing another culture game with America. I definitely want to try a secret societies game as Eleanor for maximum loyalty griefing, and I definitely also want to try out Ethiopia themselves.

I have a game going as Ethiopia right now. I'm planning to run Bull Moose Teddy next--I'd originally expected to go with Magnificent Catherine, but man, Bull Moose Teddy's ability is potent.

Ethiopia is a religious power to be reckoned with. I founded the first religion, beating whoever built Stonehenge by a good five turns. (Playing on Epic speed, as always.)

Just for everyone wondering how good the ethiopian faith game is -

The improved resource faith is geometric scaling. IE each copy of a given resource produces faith equal to the number of copies the city has. 1 for 1, 2*2=4 for 2, 3*3=9 for 3, etc. Land a nice fishing or farming spot and you are freaking set. My current capital has 4 tobacco nearby. I am hauling in faith in the ancient era.

Random. Hermetic Ghandi has been the final result. Ley lines all over the place, let's see how it results.

Eleanor (fr) and the Voidsingers. Then I'll probably try Bloody Alexander.

I'm playing Ethiopia and I got what seemed to be a good map. Spawned surrounded by mountains and hills. Really hard to get food though... Like, really hard. But, even worse, I'm on a tiny peninsula, penned in with only 3 cities. This map is brutal.

Rock churches are insane though, especially with Earth Goddess like I got. I am getting +9 faith on some tiles. And with this huge faith economy just from 3 cities, I'm keeping up with science and culture from Menelik's LA.

Intended to go culture, but I am suzerain of Yerevan so I'm hoping to do a RV with my 3 cities.

And I have secret societies on, but because of the map, I wasn't able to discover a tribal site to join the Voidsingers. So I'm not really playing that mode, really. Haven't got to Archaeological museums yet. And I'm not reaping the benefits of improved resources because I don't have anything.

One of the worst maps I've rolled, but it's a good challenge.

Ethiopia with secret societies. On that note, does Menelik have a volcano starting preferences? Always start next to one on my rolls.

I think he only has a Hills bias. There are no volcanoes anywhere near me in my game.

Well my Sanguine Pact Magnificent Catherine is going well.

My two vampires Graf Lamorte and Countess Tepes have been putting in work. I am getting good vampire castle yields by building them on desert tiles in a Petra city next to chateaus and sugar plantations. :goodjob:

Surprisingly Simon Bolivar is keeping up in culture too considering it was the Medieval and he asked me if he could establish an embassy. I was confused and noticed he had a lot of wonders built and joined the Hermetic Order so maybe has secret cultural ley lines somewhere.

Looks like its cultural vampire castles vs. cultural ley lines.

Yes, yes they will be! Waiting for them to add more rock group styles. "Goth Rock" - bonuses for playing on holy sites, vampire castles, and ley lines. Punk Rock - Any district they play on is fully pillaged.
