I'm using a 1GHz P3, but im waiting in line for a dual Athlone system.

Athlon XP, 512 Megs DDR (on 266) and a 2 year old Geforce. With this Civ 3 rocks!

Any PII players that can run Civ 3 reasonably well?

Yes. It bogs down badly on anything larger than medium map size after the middle ages. It also has a failing harddrive, and no internet connection, so no patch. Luckily, I have another computer.;)

p2 350mhz 128mb ram geforce 2 and a aybabtu internet connection

civ3 works good.

An overall crappy system, but hey, Civ3 works and i have a fast connection! :goodjob:

He Miko,

What mapsize you normally play? Friend of mine got my old PII 266 and wants to play large. Any change of reasonable performance?

my civ3 works a lot better if i turn off the music.:scan:

celeron 266mhz 258 ram with a very old graphics card, but I can still play civ3 pretty well

1.4 GhZ
256 mb ram
Geforce 2
Cd/dvd rom :D

And some more stuff

Right now:

486 machine with a speed of 33mhz; over 400mb of hard-drive space. Running Windows 95 OSR-2 (no mouse; have to use those stupid "disability" features) with cable connection via LAN (so my IP address, on both my computers, is virtually the same). Can support SVGA graphics (800*600*8). Posting with IE 5 (which MS ported to Windows 3.1).

Also installed on my hard-drive is Windows 3.11, for protected-mode networking, the only remaining vestige of the computer's previous owner. I play around with it often (the "About Box" easter-egg is funny).

There are no options for K6-2 or K6-3...I have a K6-2, so I voted on the K6 option. I'm moving up to Athlon soon when I build a new computer, however.

Ahhh...the new Superman.

Tell me Caligastia....do they still have the two part motherboard? Or have they finally moved to the one parter?

Or have you even cracked open the box?

I have a 1.4 Ghz, 256 MB Ram with 32 Megs of Video Ram and Civ3 rocks:goodjob:

Athlon 1.33Ghz
384MB DDR Ram
30GB HardDrive (+8GB)
MagInnovision XJ700T 17" Monitor
10/100 Ethernet Card
Creative SoundBlaster Live! Value
Voodoo 3000 AGP (I intend on replacing it with GeForce 4 when I get the money)
Dxr2 DVD Drive (x5 x32)
Yamaha CDRW Burner (x10 x20 x40)

All connected to a 5.1 Dolby Digital Nakamichi AV-8 Reciever, 5 speakers system and an LG DVD Deck. :D

The Voodoo 3000 does problems with civ3 or directdraw to me when I put it on 32bit... so I always use 16bit color.
