What Mod Should I be running?

Im new to Civ IV I want to run a mod like C2C but AI turns take a long time on my potato. The base game runs smooth on GEM. Are there any mods that will run smooth and are vaguely similar to c2c?

I'm not sure what your system can handle, but some of the better mods I've found are:
1. Realism Invictus
2. RoM: AND
3. Legends of Revolution

None of those have as much "stuff" as C2C, but they are reasonably balanced, as far as I can tell. LoR is my favorite, even though it is pretty small. Still really fun.

After I posted this, I tried Invictus and love it. Seems like it works great. The scenario on the earth map crashes the game though. I was dissapointed that I did not see any GEM maps then I saw that there are two lowkey tagged with RI. AI is extremely anti human similar to the base game, I dont even hit AD 1 and lose word war I with no Allies. I cant play RI on noble, Im trying Settler now.

Yeah, it probably has BTS Better AI. That strengthens everything about the AI.
