Mel might see that as a challenge..

Why is the sil so hard?

It's just so complicated so reading it is very hard, imagine then a movie... But only Nan i hin hurin can maybe be pretty good...

Yeah, but the Narn needs a lot of context; without the Nirnaeth, you don't know why Morgoth is doing what he is doing, and without Tuor and Earendil you won't get to see how his evil ends up backfiring.

It maybe can be a serie... First the creation, then... WTH it is hard yes... :p

I saw Ninja Scrolls or smthing like that. It's an anime. It was slightly better than all the animes i've seen. So that makes it a bit above average.
I've yet to see an anime which isn't childish/average/boring/lame.

I'll give them one last chance tho - i'll try Helsing.

Mmm; Ninja Scroll. I personally kind of liked that, ultraviolence though it may be. I agree though that I never had much luck with anime either (although I'm probably just too uninformed to know of the good stuff). Nice one though! :goodjob:

(btw, while not exactly the same genre (I don't think?), I would personally highly recommend giving Cowboy Bebop a try before giving up completely. It's tough to describe fully, but I really like it. It is basically Japanese animation with heavy American Jazz and Western influences, telling the story of a misfit bunch of bounty hunters in the future. I personally liked the episodes better than the movie though (not that the movie was bad or anything), so if you do feel like checking it out, I would recommend getting a DVD of four episodes of the show rather than going for the movie first, FWIW.)

The only noteworthy movie I've seen recently was the Maltese Falcon, which was worth the hype, IMHO. Quality flick.

Oh and Kurosawa's "Ran", which was a retelling of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan. Very solid, although it was a bit confusing to see a Kurosawa flick where Mifune doesn't come striding onto the screen at some point. ;)

It was in fact the best anime i ever saw. All the violence saved it. :D

I keep hearing good things about that. I might try it someday after i get another "i wanna watch some anime now" moment. I'll stick with Helsing for the moment.

Spiderman 3.

Really short, really, really crappy, and rushed Review: I hate spoilers, so I made sure that this is spoiler free.

Going into this, I was pretty much expecting a good movie (unlike Pirates 3, who's preview left me terribly disappointed and not looking forward to it as much), like the first two. Early reviews were favorable, although not quite as sparkling as the first two.

The movie featured the familiar wry humor spread through action sequences and whiz-bang special effects previously seen, although these effects were quite spectacular. One critique I have had of parts one and two is that the acting was mediocre at best; surprisingly, this movie was better acted by everyone involved, even though the parts were more demanding this time around. Some of Peter Parker's (Maguire) scenes in which he has "transformed" (and I'll leave it at that) were good, and Mary Jane (Dunst) whom I have often looked upon unfavorably, was pretty convincing. One complaint I do have is the crying scenes, they were used too often and weren't especially convincing. Also, the beginning feels a little cluttered; introducing two new villains, along with Harry Osbourne seems to have crowded the early scenes a little.

Spiderman 3 requires a greater suspension of belief than either of the previous two, but the excellent special effects and script make the jump easy enough for viewers. Good action and humor round out a fitting third (and possibly final) piece to the trilogy.

Pros:
-Improved Acting
-Special Effects Spectacular
-Funniest of the series

Cons:
-To much crying; too overdone, often dampened romance scenes
-One semi-major plot twist was predictable (the 'alliance', if you've seen it you know what I mean)

Bottom Line: I give it a 8.5 out of 10. I can only think of about 15 or so movies I have given better scores, and, me being the big movie buff I am and usually harsh critic, that's pretty damn good.

300, We are Marshall, Fly Boys, Smokin' Aces, End Game, Sentinel, Departed, and a bunch of others I can't remember
