What Music are You Listening to, #68: Bring Some Flowers in Your Hair

Okay lads. As you may know I usually listen to black metal, aggrotech, progressive metal, industrial, classical music. When I heard this piece for the first time though I had to pull over my car and finish listening with goose bumps all over. A truly unique song;

Speaking of cool solo dance performances in music videos, reminds me of Christopher Walken for Fatboy Slim:

Right now enjoying some epic Knopfler though:

I hate that this works....

....oh, lord, I don't know if I'll ever escape having heard this. Here is some peasant folk song wholesomeness as a palate cleanser.

Stumbled on these ladies a few years ago. I have no idea what they're singing but it sounds pretty and they're lovely to watch doing things like riding in taxis or washing preserve jars.

Russian folks songs

In anticipation of the Third Saturday in October:

There's a bye week for my local team, so that means it's time to cheer for Tennessee against Alabama! Maybe someday Tennessee will rise to such heights that it would make sense to root against them, but for the time being, it's time to root against the Tide!

It's also just a great song about college football... could equally be applied to an Ohio State fan falling for a Michigan fan, or vice versa, as it could for a Georgia fan falling for a Tennessee fan. "In Georgia they call it a sin" - yup, that's how we'd describe falling for the wrong team here, too!

Then look across the Western Sea (i.e. the Baltic) to the Finns, who are always mute but somehow sing. Klamydia has a nice live set. If you don't speak Finnish, that's OK. The Finns don't speak either. ;)

P.S.: I don't know why, but there are two one-hour ‘meditation’ (???) tracks spliced into the playlist. Just skip 'em.

She dances better than she sings.
