Returning World Wonders:

Artemision of Ephesos (Temple of Artemis)

Temple of Zeus at Olympia (Statue of Zeus)

Mausoleion of Halicarnassos (Mausoleum at Halicarnassus)

Mouseion of Alexandria (Great Library)

Pharos of Alexandria (Great Lighthouse)
pharosofalexandria.jpg

Hagia Sophia (A Christian version with a cross on top of the dome that has the Column of Justinian besides it and lacks the four Ottoman minarets would be more appropriate in my opinion, especially if the Ottomans are in the Modern Age, and Hagia Sophia is in the Exploration Age along the Byzantines)
hagiasophiaconstantinople.png

Pisa Cathedral (only the Leaning Tower of Pisa has been seen in the past, perhaps it's time for the whole monument to make an appearance)

Himeji Castle

New World Wonders:

Abu Simbel

Naqsh-e Rostam (can be associated with the Sassanids)

Osaka Castle (If Himeji Castle isn't in the game)

Fontana di Trevi (can be associated with Modern Italy)

Achilleion Palace (can be associated with Modern Greece)

New Natural Wonders:

Meteora
(can be a World Wonder too)

Le Morne Brabant (with the underwater waterfall of Mauritius)

Just FYI, the Pantheon is not new; I don't remember if it was in Civ4 or Civ5 or both. :) New wonders I'd like to see would include Naqsh-e Rostam, the temple complex at Luxor (or Karnak), Gyeongbokgung (prime candidate for Joseon's associated wonder), Prague Old Town Hall (prime candidate for Bohemia's associated wonder), and every Gothic cathedral and chapel ever. :D Regarding natural wonders, I've long been hoping to see Mt. Ararat/Little Ararat and Jeju Island (even though I think we can all agree that ocean wonders are the worst). After having Eyjafjallajökull for two games in a row, I propose the obligatory and necessary natural wonder from Iceland be Gullfoss. I'd also like to see some more interesting geothermal features like Civ6's Pamukkale.

I kind of missed Krakatoa. It being a volcano it could have made some crazy ocean tile yields. :p

Erm, :think:I just checked the wiki and couldn't find it, and I remember that I had checked all the wonders from all the games before making the thread. Is there any chance you misremember? I'm asking this because the very similarly named Parthenon was indeed a World Wonder in Civilization IV and Civilization V.

Gyeongbokgung

Prague Old Town Hall (I think the Týn Church that's next to it is more beautiful and deserves the spot more)
pragueoldtownhall.jpg

Church of Our Lady before Týn

Domm de Milan (If there is one gothic cathedral I would propose, it's this one)
duomodimilano.jpg

Mount Ararat (Little Ararat to the left, Greater Ararat to the right)

Seongsan Ilchubong (Fortress Mountain or Sunrise Peak at Jeju Island)

Gullfoss

A natural wonder I've really been wanting to see in a civ game lately is the Arabika Massif- it's a gorgeous karst range in the Western Caucuses of Georgia that's home to some of the world's deepest caves (The Veryovkina and the Voronya/Krubera.)

I could have sworn we had the Pantheon, but I just searched as well and can't find it. I must have been mistaken.

Sorry, I wrote Old Town Hall and meant Old Town Square...so I didn't have to choose between the astronomical clock and the church. :D Bonus points that the Square is also famous for its seasonal markets.

I'd like to see modern wonders. If nothing else, they should invent some future-wonders (eg. Space Elevator for the end of the tech tree)

I'd like to see modern wonders.
As a wondermonger, I always dislike modern wonders because so many of them are ugly (with a few exceptions--an art deco skyscraper like the Empire State Building or Chrysler Building might be nice). :(

Ahaha the developers should take some artistic liberties in this case 😁
Now I don't think modern wonders are necessary ugly it's just that wonders of back then actually took time, effort, generations of people, artistic thought, devotion (typically to a god or gods) and more.

Nowadays "wonders" are just skyscrapers made for money OR scientific institutions. Sad times

The thing to remember, is that the label "wonder" is almost always applied in hindsight, if not WAY in hindsight. Eiffel Tower is probably the most classic example of this, going from a temporary contraption that was almost universally hated, to the very icon of Paris itself. Anyway, calling modern wonders "ugly", is always heartbreaking for me to hear; what else do we call Sydney Opera House? And in terms of skyscrapers, I'm sorry, but almost none of the ones built in New York are what I would regard as wonder-worthy, the only possible exception being UN Headquarters, for its role in housing the United Nations.

Anyway, here's a short, incomplete list of what I personally would refer to as modern wonders:

Helsinki Central Library (A.K.A. Oodi) (Helsinki, Finland)
1732829490811.jpeg

Maeslantkering (Nieuwe Waterweg, the Netherlands)
1732829507113.jpeg

Globe Arena (Stockholm, Sweden)
1732829519202.jpeg

Palace of the Parliament (A.K.A. Casa Poprului) (Bucharest, Romania)
1732829529079.jpeg

Palace of All Religions (Kazan, Russia)
1732829538954.jpeg

Marina Bay Sands (Downtown, Singapore)
1732829550713.jpeg

Petronas Towers (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
1732829559792.jpeg

Kola Superdeep Borehole

Kola_Superdeep_Borehole.jpg

And, though, definitely not Modern, a Wonder I had mentioned around a neglected civ suggestion, recently - Nan Madol, the Venice of Oceania

Nan_Madol.jpg

Domm de Milan (If there is one gothic cathedral I would propose, it's this one)
Fairly sure that's neo-gothic, not gothic.

The thing to remember, is that the label "wonder" is almost always applied in hindsight, if not WAY in hindsight.
Let's be completely honest, while there are certainly structures important to almost every specific nationstate of today, none of these are really wonders in anything but a faint lipservice to the idea.
If Civ series continues with the eras and associated wonders it would make sense to pivot around that, at least if you're solely concerned with realism. Wonders in the modern age are special and hard to build unique districts. Unique to each civ, no one else can even try building them, though you might also include some sort of privates measuring element where they can't steal the building from you, but they can steal the fame stemming from it by burning even more money and building a skyscraper whose antennae reach 5mm higher, rendering yours completely worthless.

It makes it really easy to come up and argue on ideas. No one in the world cares about random golden-plated cathedrals built in Brasil but to Brasilians they are a source of pride. Twins alike are a very strong symbol to the Americans but outside of the US it's a regular tragedy like hundreds of others. Even Asterix (a parody of the modern world) lampshades the modern perception regarding megastructures with Caesar brushing off pyramids as just a random triangle.

Though that's all speaking from the perspective of reality, obviously you're complicating otherwise clear and simple design of the series' wonder mechanic. And whether it's worth it to alter the mechanics/introduce new ones/rename and educate people on something exclusive to the last 200 turns of the game is up to the game designers. Frankly a bit unlikely, but at least it's some perspective on the 'wonders' of the later 20th and 21st century.
