What settings could i expect to play on ?

Hi guys,

I've been playing this mod 4+ years ago, and damn the turns were more than 3 minute long at the industrial era (with 15 civs & normal map) on my previous rig, however the experience was amazing. I've been reading here and there on this forum that people actually managed to complete games on this mod.

Is the newer version much more optimized ?

What settings should i go for with the following specs, in order to have turns not going above 3 minutes in the later stages ?

i5 4590
12 GB RAM DDR3
GTX 970
Windows 10
Running mod from steam beta version

Play on small maps/scenarios (like the dual space one) with fast game speeds (e.g. normal).

Yep, it's the best way to experience the whole game.

Wow i'm surprised, thank you for the insight. No chance to play it with 4/5 civs ? I'd be okay with disabling some extra features, if that can help smoothening the gameplay.

Of course you can! Try out Snofru's random generated maps with space content, you have many to choose from. Though more civilizations will mean more wait time between turns the farthest you get ingame.

Alright . So going as far as space era is an obligation on the mod, no possibilities to cut this off ? Will check this map right away !

Problem with duels is that it's likely; either me or the ai ends the game before modern times :/

If you really want to fully experience all the eras then a space map is obligatory. I am not sure if in fact anyone has ever seen an AI venture into space until now, probably it doesn´t have the programming to do so. But you still could play the last eras doing expanding and exploring, for me that is fun, too. Select your victory settings accordingly by only allowing time, scientific and/or spacecraft victory (or master victory), then you can pla on even after you have eliminated all your opponents.
