As former Defense Minister to President Duck of Flanders, I feel it would be appropriate for me to make one last poll, to serve the people.

This is an important issue, one that will concern us until the end.

What shall we do with occupied cities?

Thank's ohwell,
This is indeed an important decission.

I hope you will come around once and awhile ,you were absolutly an excelent millitary advisor.

I hope to see you in our new mp game if you have the time.sixchan resigned to ,but i will see him there to.

But ah ,i still have some important leader's here ,so it can still work. But youre input will be missed.

edit: afcourse ill see you in the mp game ,you are on my team :)

give them to the nearest governor until war is over and a new province is formed.

I voted for the first option. Governors shld be involved in developing cities and freshly-conquered cities are probably still at risk.

Once the military threat is over, the Mil Leader shld pass it to a governor to admin.

I voted to give control to the Pres, but my thinking is that he will be advised primarily by the military leader. It is possible that broader concerns might override immediate military concerns with a newly conquered city. As with the Military leader option, once the city and surrounding terrain is secure, control should pass to whatever governor is appropriate, including the possibility of establishing a new govenor.

Hmm I am not sure of the point of this. Surely it is easiest to just give thecity to the nearest governor like is already happening... Is the Roman city really under threat anyway? I thought that we expected the surrounding terrain to be free of any other cities. Also it already has 3 crusaders and a pikeman so is my poll still valid?

Dell, your question is valid. Personally I would consider Virconium to be secure. No immediate threat and it is defended. I think this thread is concerned about the first turn or two of a newly conquered city that is still in the middle of a raging battle and/or does not have sufficient defenses yet.

Are we going to need guidelines to decide when a city is secure, or leave it up to the pres's discrection?

Well, the first choice is meaning that once the city is defended adequately and enemy forces are minimal or absent, the control can be handed to a governor.

Virconium is perfectly safe I beleive, it has 3 crusaders and a pikeman. That will do nicely, and Dell made a right choice on making the poll.

The poll was made to make a guideline for future campaigns, when our forces will invade cities in the midst of empires. That is when the MIlitary Advisor should take control.

I voted to allow the military advisor to take control. SInce it is the military that defends the new city, and the military who took it in the first place.
