Is anyone else having trouble. I can't get onto the Hotmail or MSN websites and can't connect via Trillian or MSN Messenger 6. This has been for a few days now...
 
I run Trillian and stupid MSN is giving me these messages. I've logged them and I've been getting them multiple times a day:

Well its working fine for me...
All i know, is recently they've been updating some of the servers. This could be the problem.
 
Did you go to that address to upgrade hbdragon88?

Also, on another forum I was helping a guy out with a virus he had, but as a side thing he said that is hotmail was not working. It turned out that AOL was doing somthing that prevenetd it (he did not go into detail). Are you using AOL?

Well all he said was the problem is on AOL's end. Nothing more. So I suspect it will work in time after they fix it, if it is truly a problem on their end. You could check out AOL's support if you wanted more info. Maybe something is written there.

I bet you were recieving a "596 No Data" error too huh?
 
nope, np 596 No Data error - maybe that was only in the AOL browser (which I don't use anyway). Besides, it appears to hAve sorted itself out, so cheerS anyway :)

I´m sure well soon have an upgrade for Trillian including that new MSN code. I´m surprised they took more than a day this time. ;)
Btw, I just blocked that message, MSN still worked and works fine through Trillian.

Yeah, 2.0 is in beta, but I don't know how long I can stand those messages...and no, I'm not going to block messenger@msn.com because there COULD be some important stuff beyond them notifying me about getting the update.

For folks who are using a non-Microsoft client... Microsoft has been updating their IM protocol, probably in a hope to shut out competing clients (the monopolist is at it again)...
 
Yeah, I read about Microsoft updating their MSN messenger to block third-party messengers...I say rats to them...
 
Ah - go to Trillian.cc and in downloads, they have a new patch E to counter MSN's and Yahoo's upgrades to version six of their products. Stops those pesky messages urging you to upgrade. It works great.
