It is the year 2500BC I was at war with the germans, I took there capital and a smaller city, I declared peace. They only have 3 cities and are not advanced(Only have warriors and spearman). So I have decided to let my vast culture over take them. I have lots of cities. So before that happens should I start to threaten them for money, or ask for its cities with threats of military action since I have a huge army ready to attack at any time.:D

They probably don't have anything worth taking.

It is probably better for you to attack and take their cities than for them to give them to you. If you use elite units then there is a chance of getting a Great Leader.

I suggest that you attack with completely healthly offensive elite units. Have a defensive elite unit protecting it.
If you destory a defender but have not taken the city wait a turn so the city can build more defenders. Remember one Great Leader is probably more valuable than 3 extra corrupt cities.
When you get your first GL build the heroic epic this will increase the chance of GL's appearing.

I agree with Scyphax. Try to get a GL. This will help you out more later in the game than 3 cities, esp when you already have a ton.

With that one GL you can build the Heroic epic and make an army which will lead you to military academy. I don't know about you, but when I see an army standing by my border, I get a little worried, not to mention the 10 or 20 armies that you might be able to build later.

Once I secure my continent, eliminating who I can, I declare war on any civ that poaches territory on it later in the game. Because of the stupidity of the AI, they land in the most heinous of places. So they're immediately removed I don't care who they have MPPs with.

So once they poach a city on your land, knock them off, raze the city or take it over for yourself..even if it's a junk city, it's still something.
