What TV Shows are you watching? ι', a perfect I.

1. I'm impressed by how shockingly pointless these eight hours of television were.
I think you mean pointlessly shocking, but yes.

Treadstone on Hulu. It is not new (2019), but as a CIA caper show, it is pretty good and keeps my interest.

Finally got through the second season of House of the Dragon.

1. I'm impressed by how shockingly pointless these eight hours of television were.
2. Possibly one of the worst finales I've ever seen.

This show has now entered hate-watch territory. Good thing they haven't even started filming season three yet. :crazyeye:
I'm shocked that peoples watched more than ~3 epis of season 1 even ;)
If there ever was a prime example for a money grab show riding on media hype, it's this one.
Well that and whatever Amazon did with LOTR i guess.

Been watching Top Chef, didn't want to get into a new regular type of show before my month long trip and I've always been a fan of well thought out cooking shows. Love watching what people come up with given the limitations they are presented with.

The thing is.. Why does Netflix only have seasons 6 (Las Vegas) and 12 (Boston) up and nothing else? Seems like a licensing issue, but it also seems the other seasons are not up anywhere at all.. Bit annoying, but that's the reality of this modern era we live in..

I also quite enjoyed Culinary Class Wars, the South Korean cooking show that pitted 100 top Korean chefs against each other, including a couple Americans (of Korean descent) as well as a couple European chefs who live in Korea. It was an innovative show with really interesting challenges. It also seemed quite big budget compared to other cooking shows. The chefs there did not focus on Korean cuisine at all either, other Asian and European cuisines got their fair share of representation. Was fun watching the fusion dishes people came up with, and learning about Korean cuisine was bonus too. Can't wait for season 2

I ran across Dr Stone on Netflix, an anime about a super-smart teen science genius trying to restart civilisation 3700 years after a green energy wave petrified all humans on Earth in an instant.

It's surprisingly good and I'm about a third of the way through the available episodes.

Oh yes, you should watch it. FOR SCIENCE!

I'll have to catch the rest on Crunchy Roll later on, but there's no rush just yet. :)

WTH. The Old Man episode 8 is not the end. No more are showing as listed next. What an awesome show. I guess we will have to wait for more. :(

Loudermilk is good (Netflix, about a leader of an alcoholics support group)

and goddamn does Ron Livingston (of Office Space fame) look good for his age!

Started watching Kaos on Netflix.de the other day. So far it's been primarily a modernised, more than slightly surreal comedic retelling of the Orpheus myth (he's a rock star, she gets hit by a truck).

I'm sure @Kyriakos would hate it ;)

We watched that earlier this year. It has a nice arc, even if the comedy is occasionally wince-inducing.

Just saw the first episode of ST Lower Decks's season 5 last night. A fun start to the season, and they play with the canonical weirdness of Orions by having some green Orion women pirates feuding with a band of blue-green Orion men. There's also a classic "meeting the crew's doubles from another universe" storyline.

I was surprised, though, that when Martiner escaped her handcuffs and told the mirorr-Cerritos crew that their captain had swapped places with her to go on the other Cerritos that the crew wanted their captain back, since they all seemed to live in fear of her.

The Diplomat S2 starts tonight on Netflix!

I watched the last episode of S1 The Diplomat to get me up to speed and the first 2 (of 6) of S2. Awesomeness continues.

Watching some Columbo.

S3 and S4. Apparently they are among the most popular ones.

Some of the episodes are nice - particularly those with Robert Culp - and there is charm in watching something filmed before you were born.
But they aren't as elegant as (say) a Hitchcock film, and the lack of mystery takes a toll imo.

I wonder if they will actually have a reboot, with Mark Ruffalo. It could work.
