With how Assyrian the Middle-Eastern units look, I suspect the Unique Military Unit will be a siege engine and the Unique Civilian Unit the Turtanu. The Turtanu can be designed as an Assyrian king on a war chariot, those art assets can also be used for the non-unique Babylonian Commander in the future too. What unique units are you expecting for Assyria?

Originally, I voted for Battering Ram and Siege Tower. Not because I think they will have them both, but I think aspects of them might be combined into a single "Siege Engine" unit that could both damage walls and attack the tile in which the walls are defending at the same time. But then I decided to just change it to a Siege Tower, but I still think it would have the battering ram aspects of it, similar to the Civ 5 depiction.

As far the civilian UU, I agree that a unique commander riding in a war chariot would work.

That's an interesting idea. Firaxis can add two models for the unit, with the name being Lulimitu or Kalbanatu (siege engine). One model will be a battering ram, the other will be a siege tower.

What about a special Commander that is a military engineer or can construct siege units in the field? Also I read this and thought it would be a neat unique upgrade

"Assyrian spearmen were more mobile than their predecessors too. Rather than sandals, they now wore the Assyrian military invention that was arguably one of the most influential and long-lasting of all: the army boot. In this case the boots were knee-high leather footwear, thick-soled, hobnailed and with iron plates inserted to protect the shins, which made it possible for the first time to fight on any terrain however rough or wet, mountain or marsh, and in any season, winter or summer. This was the first all-weather, all-year army."

I don't think there is a need for two different models. I was just thinking of this one right here which has aspects of both. But I guess according to the description this is considered a battering ram, more than a siege tower, so maybe I might change my vote to that. :crazyeye:

A Unique Engineer that puts an adjacent walled city under siege but is consumed after the action sounds interesting too. Maybe Assyrian siege towers and battering rams could be added all around the city's wall when the action is performed, but the Unique Military Unit won't be a siege engine if that is the case.

Yeah, that looks like a combination of a siege tower and a battering ram, but it functioned as a battering ram. The archers in it were meant to defend the siege instrument from the enemy, soldiers weren't supposed to reach the enemy walls with it.
