What went wrong....?

Hi guys.. just stuck in a game, and not sure what went wrong..
feeling really bad to continue this game ..
unless I learn something new to try it on..
I guess guys here may give nice opinions that i've ignored... ^ ^
Need lots of help ... PLEEEAAASSSEEEE......

Game details:
Monarch - Epic - Large/Huge (not quite sure..) - BTS without patches. (so you can apply any patches if you like)
Map: Fractal .. turned out pretty much a continent and an isolated Monty AI.
Remarks: Complete kills, City flip after conquered *, random personality **
* turned out very costly in this game....
** Monty is being invaded by Britain and have some early wonders, so expect something different from what you expect.

Briefing:
It's around 1870's, the age of MGs and infantries.. Tanks will be rolling out in a few turns... we vikings settle our cities on the east coastal.

The game was in good shape and catching up with everybody.. missing some wonders, but not really important..

Frederick was the all time leader and got 4 vassals, but all broken away while fighting with Hannabil on the west side of the continent. And still exchanging cities from time to time.

I paid off 2 techs and some gold to my neighbour to beg for peace before rifleman. (way behind tech by then.)

Around the time I got rifleman, start the conquest to the east, then south.
and decided to capulate 2 more vassals by shorten the wars.

On my south, Inca just keeping up the military tech all time... leaving me no chance to attack at all.... or a very costly war that I'm not even sure I can win.

Expect:
City Fliping.... the main reason that I didn't want to go back to this game.....

Please tell me what should I do ...
My game style doesn't work in this one...

I don't know a lot about vassal states, haven't used them yet, but I would make them work for you. They have shitloads of resources that they can give you, and (If you have tech brokering off) maybe you can help out their military a little and declare war on Capac. It seriously isn't that bad.

And get Artillery from Frederick before. You can get it for refrigeration and some gold.

I would also switch to Free Speech, Universal Suffrage, and Emancipation. You're not running THAT many specialists, and you have LOTS of villages and towns, and you could really use the 100% culture boost from free speech.

And watch out for Wang Kong, he will soon break off... I would take his food.

I don't see why you are so upset. Your doing pretty well. Don't attack Huayna if you're not comfortable with it. Pick away the weaker players.

Ya. seriously, I already took every resources I can have ... unless I have some Corps to completely rip them off.

Okies... I think I really should trade Artillery from Fred or Julian...
And really good idea that I should change civics... what am i thinking......

Then my following Questions would be:

1. Should I attack again in Infantry era ?

2. Who should I attack next ?
a. Britain?
b. Inca? seems strong but very profitable....
c. Monty?
d. Else?
