What would happen if Civilization: Beyond Earth met SMAC?

Yes, the future Earth of both games are quite different and possibly incompatible. Still fun to think about since, both games attempt to make them be about larger-than-life characters.

1. Let's say the Sponsor leaders were all members of the Unity. How do they fare? Do they all survive Planetfall, and for the ones who do, what are their fates?

2. Let's say somehow all the Sponsor missions end up at Alpha Centauri after the Unity. How do they stack up with the existing factions?

3. Should we bring the Pandora: First Contact guys into this discussion?
