What would Jesus cut, if he could run?

You should have 1 person be your military but as long as he trusted in the Lord, he can't lose.
Now, how many battle in history have Christians lost?

I always interpreted that tax passage as Jesus saying that we should return all our money to caesar, i suppose if we trusted/cared for each other enough and tried to help one another according to our individual strengths, then currency would no longer be needed and caesar would end up with a huge pile of coins that do indeed belong to him but have been rendered worthless, render unto caesar what belongs to him, and to god what is his.

Maybe Jesus was talking about how the importance of taxes disappears when we begin to serve one another, and by extension rendering to god what belongs to him at the same time, by following his law.

Well that just sounds socialist.

I would consider that more communist. ;)
You can take almost everything Jesus said and it sounds socialist.

Goverment supported abortion. Baby Jesus cries for every 1 dollar sent to Planned Parenthood, ACORN, and CPR

Wait? He cries when someone does cardiopulmonary resuscitation? I thought that was supposed to save lifes

Lives that had been in heaven. Don't you see what you robbed them of?

Root out corruption and vice within the government - the press would have a field day.

Cut the military, for we must not make war upon our brothers and sisters, and due to this, we'd have a non-interventionist foreign policy.

The welfare state may see expansion, but would see an increase in efficiency as abuse, waste and fraud was ruthlessly sought out. Mandated gleaning for sure.

Not sure if he'd be in favor of state faith or not.

I doubt it but it's a toss up.

Obviously Jesus would cut all programs that the Democrats like.

Their faith was lacking.

I believe that Jesus would have extolled specific individuals to rely on their faith, and to not care about worldly consequences regarding their failure, but to worry about their spiritual consequences. However, like we see with his interpretation of working on the Sabbath, he's also decently practical (sometimes). The stories of Moses has the children of Israel fighting for their survival, and that their fighting was either blessed by God or not (since JHWH was more of a war-god back then). For this reason, I think Jesus'd have suggested a strong military. Individual Christian soldiers, however, would have been chastised to die instead of forsaking Christian principles, that it would be better to be killed by someone than to risk the soul.

Mr. Render unto Caeser/easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle would probably jack up the tax rate on top earners a lot.

Just my opinion on what that particular human man would advocate based on what I've read of his teachings.

Nonsense. Jesus was also in favor of helping those who already have the power to help themselves, or something like that.:mischief:

Wasn't that Benjamin franklin? i believe he said god helps those that help themselves, he also said that man will ultimately be governed by God or by tyrants.
