Was messing around last night just to make sure the new patch was working on my system. Anyhow I loaded random game prince random leader and recieved
Gandhi. My only goal really at that point was to build a wonder to see how it affected my graphics. So I was just totally messing around. Before long I had founded Buddism, Hindu, Judaism, Confusianism. Wich all gave me the movies I wanted to see. Then I was on my way to Christianity I believe I would have founded but became tired and was done with my graphics test.

I also managed to pop a hut that gave me hunting. When I quite all I could do with my fast workers was build roads mine and hunt but there where no hunting recourses needless to say I was falling incredably behind in infastructure.
haha not something one should do with fastworkers. Plus the 5 places I founded on my lone Island where consistantly being bombarded by barbs. I think I probably would have lost a few cities if I kept up that game. I was at war with the romans but they just sent over empty boats though I could see most of there cities as they had converted to Hindu. They where moving there axe men out guess he did not find iron yet.

Anyhow my question is has anyone ever founded all religions? If so what level where you playing, and what civ did you play?

Im not willing to play anything lower then noble because anything lower is not a challenge for me. Even noble seems low to me but I would be willing to try if
anyone else has had luck with getting all religions founded.

If noone has founded all religions then I wonder what the most anyone has founded? Thats the most I ever have and I believe I would have made Christianity before anyone else. Then probably would have been crushed by the huge Roman army of axe men gearing up to sail to my island.

I founded all of them on my first test game, but it was just a chieftain one, so no accomplishment, and it was pretty much by accident.

Wow that 3 peeps who have had all 8 religions. If it can be done on thoughs lower levels then I believe it can be done on prince. Im going to give it a try.

No one mentioned what civ they used. I beileve though it will not be possible unless i start with a civ with mysticism.

Spanish, Indian, Incan, Arabian, and Aztec.

Guess Incan is out since they dont have spiritual trait. Atleast I beileve if this is the strat then I really need to be spiritual. Though they are financial wich could work very well with the shrines income+city income. Plus the early unit might help for defense.

Also I feel like im going need to have a early unit to defend with since I will need to focus on a few of the wonders to make sure I snag thoughs religions with GProfits. So Spanish is out.

No need for fast worker if all tech is pretty much focused on religion. Though Industrious might be just the thing I need. UUUUHHHHGGG That means I need to play Arabian for its philoshophical trat.

Sry for wrighting all that but It really helps me to state my goals first and peeps on these forums can handle it.

If anyone has suggestions I am always willing to try.

Well I was able to get 5 religions by 650 but someone beat me 2 philosophy.
I used Arabian on Prince level all standard settings continental world.

After I got code of laws I started working on otherthings such as Irrigation because I new profit was coming and it did. Scored me christianty. Unfortunatly
I focused on another GProfit to score philosophy and it scored me civ service instead so I made shrine. Thought about keeping it for Divine right.

I would also like to point out that there are only 7 religions not 8.

My friend founded all of them before. It's really chancy though since you have to get both Hinduism and Buddhism which are parallel to each other.

BTW, can anyone here name all 8 religions in the game?

    1.Buddhism
    2.Hinduism
    3.Judaism
    4.Confucianism
    5.Christanity
    6.Taoism
    7.Islam
    8. THERE ARE ONLY 7 RELIGIONS IN VANILLA CIV4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    :twitch:
Founding 8 out of 7 religions sounds like an impressive feat though.

The only tricky one is Buddism and Hinduism. If your have many spiritual opponents then your chance is pretty slim. Otherwise as long as you can out-research the AI for the first tech at the beginning, you can have them all.
I think you can do this on Monarch. It'd be a good idea to build a prophet wonder. It will be in time to take care of theology. You just have to beeline to code of law.

Aye to that! The trick to founding all 7 religions is getting a few great prophets, starting with a Spiritual civ (Saladin), and obviously maintaining a good economy with good tech trades.

i've looked at the tech tree and i think i can see a strat. (keep in mind that it may not work out so changes may be needed)
i recomend to use saladin or ghandi.
    1. first reseach meditation to found budism. then polythiesm to found hinduism.
    2. next research mining or go strait to masonary if your ghandi. after that get monothiesm to found judasim.
3.now get priesthood and begin building the oracle.
(2 and 3 can be swapped round in diferent circumstances)
    4. begin to get bronze working. once rechearced you can chop rush the oracle or use slavery to get it done. once completed select theology as your tech (if you managed to get writing before it was built).
    5. now get the techs needed to get writing reserched and get code of laws.
6.you should now get philosophy and divine right.
    7. well done you got all the religions now get alphabet and trade them for all the other techs you missed.
(i'm going to try this strat now).

well here it is i just did a noble game 3 ai's tiny pangea. all standard settings except no barbs. it was quite easy and could be done on prince.
    some side notes
chop forrests to rush monastries they increase sience rate which is very important since they increase resaeach rate.
great prohpets drasticly increase time to reserach techs the first one i got was at the start of reseraching philosophy but would only reserach civil service. but the second helped bring down divine right fromb 60 turns to 14.

I also just did it in a settler level game last night with the romans since I was advancing my technology at a fast pace (along with a few techs from villages) and I took the religious techs before the Incas could and by the time I began wiping them out they appeared to be way behind technologically.

I've done it on Noble on a Huge map (9 AIs). I just got lucky on Buddhism and Judaism, though.

What's cool about this is that you will easily spread your state religion everywhere and it's a big happy world (with you raking in the offerings).

Did it on noble in one of the first games after being inspired by 'chasing the hydra'. The only difficult ones as mentioned before are Hin and Bud. After you get those the rest is easy.

What is Chasing the hydra? I find that funny it would have been good name to call this thread.

And hats off to the rest of you who have done it.

    Thx for posts.

I founded all seven religions, in the same city, playing OCC with Saladin once.

Normally, I only found 2 or 3 religions on average. Sometimes none.
