Whats up with the multiplayer?

I cannot join a multiplayer game. When I host, nobody joins (Im talking about over the course of 2 hours). The first issue is extremely irritating! FIRAXIS AND GAMESPY: WTH IS WRONG HERE?! The second issue could just be that people dont wanna join my games , but I suspect otherwise.

Ive never had problems before using Gamespy to play and host CivIII multi games. What is wrong with CivIV and how do I fix it?
