I recently discovered this option and damn it sounds neat. Atm Im going with Willem of the Vikings :D

This by no means is my favorite - but darius of sumeria/zulu has pretty scary teching/cottage spam potential with a pretty high science slider

Alexander of the Ottomans.

It's the end of the classical era. Philosophical trait. Fast great scientists. Lightbulb Philosophy. Lightbulb most of Education. Build fast universaties. Research Liberalism. Get Gunpowder for free. Janissary rush. Wage war. Farm great merchants with philosophical trait. Use trade missions from great merchants to eventually upgrade to Riflemen. Continue mayhem.

Queen Boudica of the Romans is fun for an early rush: Charismatic and Aggressive Praetorians. Yikes. She's weak on the economic front, however.

Willem of Portugal is very economically stable. Feitoria + Financial trait is dominant in Archipelago or on the coast.

Asoka of Sumeria . Nice starting techs (straight to BW if something worth mining , Archery if not but your worker is not idle) . can rush a Civ with Vultures or easily take barb cities if thats a better option .

Priesthood is a very cheap tech yet opens Zigs and cheap temples . You can try to bulb Theology and make the most of spiritual shuffling between Theology and OR . Alterenativly you could try for a Great Spy and steal some techs .

Flexible and Fun , and if you make it to the late game then you have arguably the 2 best late game traits .

I like Ramesses because his traits suit my style of play. You can easily do some early warmongering with the War Chariots to get enough good land. Then you can settle down and work the land (as I normally do) or rebuild your military for further wars if you prefer combat.

While I've never really played unrestricted leaders, I've figured that Gilgamesh of China would be a really awesome combination.

Mehmed the Aztec would be interesting...Exp for cheap workers/granaries and org for cheap lighthouses/sacrificial altars. The slavers' delight, for certain.

In nearly any situation where Feitoria is good, I'd still rather have Dikes.

Dutch Victoria is also good, i guess. As is Catherine, Charlemagne, Gilgamesh, John II, and Suryavarman II are also good for the dutch.

Any CHA leader with Spain.

Playing a broken combo right now...Darius of the Aztecs on an Arboria map, marathon speed. Sick...just sick.

I don't play unrestricted but have toyed with ideas of combinations.

Boudica of Rome is an obvious one and everyone always comes up with that but it does deserve a mention. It's not that praetorians need any help but overkill is always fun.

Mehmed of Carthage for the ultimate seafaring/coastal civ.

Darius of HRE for the ultimate cash driven huge empire.

Hammurabi of Sumeria for the best possible Vulture rush/fast econ recovery through asininely cheap and early ziggurats.

Edit:

-1 for not searching for this topic. I swear there must be ones just like this on every page of this particular forum from the first page all the way to the last.

I've heard that Churchill of the Mali is dirty. Skirmishers + PRO/CHA is pretty uber.
