without a rep hit?
Can I nuke them over and over again after they nuke me for the first time?
or only on the turn they nuked me?
or will nuking always give me a rep hit, even though I wasnt the first to do so?
thx.

Compare the situation to the real world: Let's say that during the Cold War era Russia launched its nuclear arsenal against America who then retaliated in kind.

I would say, that in the aftermath the international reputation of the USA is not a top priority problem if anyone even gives it any consideration whatsoever. Similarly the rest of the world (those who are left...) would fear and hate *both* the Russkies and the Americans for the nuclear war regardless of who started it.

Philosophical arguments are a luxyry item and certainly not worth much if your country is in ruins.

Which is why I would say the rep hit for nuking is about right in Civ3. :)

Initiating nuclear :nuke: war definately gives you a costly rep hit. If you are powerfull enough to use nukes however, then who cares? :mwaha: :tank:

Just keep using them until there's no one left to worry about your reputation.

It´s no fun when the AI gets ICBMs, though.
And they all go mad at you for bombing some major cities... Yeesh...

ICBM is my best weapon to finished the escaping settlers from the last stating AI.

Remember, nuclear wars (at least in Civ3) are winnable.

Just nuke your opponents uranium deposits and he can't nuke you back. If necessary, nuke all of the worlds uranium in your first and most vicious strike!

ok, I generally go conquest victory.... So I will use nukes. That said, a tatical nuke rocks for taking out a stack of... well... any military unit including battle ships! and yes I have used taticals for taking out battle ships.

I would not open with nukes and I would not use nukes if you want a diplomatic victory. However, If your going for conquest, prep 1 tatical + nuke sub for each city of an island enemy or just one tatical for each city he had near you... nuking most of your enemies cities, will permantly blunt his offensive.

That said, I was playing aztecs and I did not actually break any rules such as declaring war before 20 turns or canceling an agreement within 20 turns due to war... BUT the greeks declared war on me and proceeded to nuke me every 2 - 3 turns... It sucked. BUT I built a ton of workers...

I guess what I mean is if your being nuked, you need to take out that guy fast. If you want to nuke that guy, your going to have to fight another civ shortly there after.

in my gvames the AI is really stupid using nukes it uses all its nukes and nukes a totally rubbish city
