When do YOU declare at?

I'm usually pretty friendly to most AI with the exception of a few that deserver a Kick in the teeth. This of course is usually right up until I get ICBM's then My reign of Terror begins.

Kublai Khan's introduction pretty much sums up my relations with the AI.

It goes something like:

"... let us be friends and allies and conquer all others only to THEN betray and rend each other like the dogs we are!"

As the former poster girl/punching bag for the Noble difficulty level, I can assure you that there is hope.

Drink plenty of liquids while playing and don't go to the bathroom. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to declare at friendly if you tell yourself you can go after the war.

I usually don't look at my relations with the civ in question before declaring. The only things I care about are his land and the possible diplomatic problems from declaring on that civ. I'd probably be the in-game Monty if it was all human players and one AI.

That pretty well sums it up for me although I do get a pang at declaring on Ghandi if we're otherwise getting along.

In fact most of the time I drink wine or beer and after a while I get furious because of a betrayal and change all my production to military and crush the enemy... Then again I feel kinda sorry for them so I let them live and capitulate
