Where did it go?

I disabled autosave as soon as i got the game last october. I re-enabled it so i could start playing the gotms. All weekend i worked on mine and i was doing keep well, milking my score. I just went to load it and continue, but the auto saves are gone! Where did they go? The only auto save left is nearly 6000 years old and i have a 3000 yr old accidental save over my big, favorite english game. I assume i may not load this since it would give me an unfair advantage.

Autosaves go into te directory /Saves/Auto. First recheck whether you really turned autosave on again.

I did. I had taken a few breaks before and loaded them from the autosave, but this last time, only 4000bc was in the folder. I checked and autosave was still on. I am looking forward to next month since i assume that they are gone. ill do a search of my hard drive, but even if the save path had been changed, the previous autosaves should be there, right?

Civ3 only keeps a certain amount of auto-saves, not all from all games you played.
Within one game, only the last 5 to 8 turns are there for you, and I´ve only seen a max of 3 different games in the autosaves.

I was not aware of that so I will keep it in mind. Unfortunantly, the only game that I have played since turning it on was that game.
