where is the file one has to edit?

So as to change the barracks graphic? I cannot find it. I hope its not something like barracks.pcx... (really, i cannot find where it is)

What do you mean, "changing the barracks graphic " ?
If you're talking about the pedia icons, you should change the pedia entry in pediaicons.txt.
If you're talking about the little icons in the city interface, you can remplace them in building_large and _small.pcx but it's easier to add the new one and change the number in the pedia entry.

If you´re talking about the file for the buildings, well, it´s more or less easy.

• The civpedia files are in
  Conquests\Art\Civilopedia\Icons\Buildings
• The city screen icons are in
  Conquests\Art\city screen\buildings-large.pcx
  Conquests\Art\city screen\buildings-small.pcx

Note: in the buildings large/small pcx you have to make sure where the icon is (the cell number) so you can add it in the pediaicons.txt file.
